Early Years Farm Excursion This term the Early Years classes have been learning about farms and farm animals. Last week all 3 classes went on a farm excursion to Mrs Moro’s farm. We all had lots of fun and participated in activities such as horse grooming, a farm walk, bush art and bush cooking, water races, egg and spoon race and rob the nest game. We had a sausage sizzle lunch and an ice block afterwards. We saw horses, cows, dogs, sheep and bales of wheat on our journey to the farm. Here are some comments from the students…. “I like the cute dog, his name was Obi”, Bodhi “I liked the marshmallows we had around the campfire”, Abby “We got to feed Danny the pony some carrots”, Mac “The farm trip was fun and I really like Shameer the white pony”, Lilly

Southern Table Tennis Centre & Wilfred Taylor Reserve PE Excursion

On Thursday, November 8th week 4, 49 students from Bec/Ms Taylor’s, Abigail’s, Mrs Hart’s and Ms Haddy’s classes went on an excursion to the

Southern Table Tennis Centre and Wilfred Taylor Reserve. Despite a late start due to heavy traffic, students got the opportunity to

participate in table tennis, basketball and netball across the facilities near the reserve. It was great to see students working in groups with students from other classes and to see them enthusiastically participate in all of the activities. Lunch at Wilfred Taylor Reserve and a play on the playground was a nice way for everyone to finish the day before our return to school. A big thank you to all of the teachers and SSO’s who attended the excursion and helped with activities on the day. Also a big thank you to Maurice and Max from Southern Table Tennis who not only helped with organising the excursion, but also delivered Sporting Schools coaching in Term 3 and ran a lunchtime Table Tennis Tournament in Week 2 this term.

Please remember that these sorts of days are a great way for students of all ability levels to be involved in sport and the more students that attend, the more opportunities we have for these types of excursions. Also it would be great to see more parents/carers complete their volunteer training as it is great to have helpers for these days and we will definitely need your support for future SAPSASA events! Thanks for your support everyone! Steve Paulovich

Outdoor Classroom Day

Abigail’s class started the day with Daily 5 outside. Many students choose to sit in spots on the playground. We also did our Maths lesson outside creating a human pie-chart and our Science investigation with Ms Taylor’s class looking at solids. Mrs Hart’s class went to the beach to explore the tide. We enjoyed writing poems to the soothing sounds of the waves. We also did some Maths learning outside using fractions and percentages in real life scenarios

Mrs Zammit’s class spent the morning outside doing Daily 5 and book making. We also did a measurement lesson outside as well.
