ENJOY THE SHOW!
In April 2011, the University
of New Hampshire did
a great job putting on the 2nd Annual Peeps Show
– Peepin’ Yourself
Stress Free
Everyone in the UNH community was
invited to create a diorama
demonstrating how you manage your
stress. The only rule was that the diorama
had to include PEEPS!
Health can include any component of the Wellness Wheel. There are 8 components to wellness: environmental, emotional, spiritual, physical, financial, occupational, social and intellectual. 18 WONDERFUL dioramas were submitted by students and staff!
The dioramas were all on display in the MUB for viewing.
A highly-esteemed panel of judges then voted on the best dioramas in the individual and group categories.

This diorama features the three activities that are most important to keeping yourself stress free: gym, sex, and picnics. Going to the gym helps to melt all of your stress away, while sex releases the endorphins to keep you happy and stress-free. Picnics are just relaxing; spending some time outdoors and in the sun is a great stress reliever.

"Home Peep Home," our Peeps Show diorama, is built on the idea that home is a nurturing, relaxing, and positive environment. As part of a response to the “Peeping Yourself Stress Free” concept, our peeps are participating in a wide range of stress relieving occupational activities. The peep family realizes the benefits of these safe and stress relieving activities and makes a point of taking time to nurture their physical, mental, and emotional health.
In front of the house, we see peeps in the midst of a variety of physical stress relievers including roller blading, basketball, racquetball playing, and kite flying. In addition to these physical activities, we have a peep sunbathing and listening to music. Another peep is in the corner of the yard snapping pictures with a camera, using photography as a form of self expression and as a means of capturing the enjoyment on her friends’ faces. Inside the house, the expressive arts are again seen as our peeps play the piano and trumpet, and create masterworks with paint. Upon venturing through the peep hole and into the kitchen, the peeps can be seen socializing, cooking, and trying new foods.

Jousting Peeps
Creators:Corey Persson
Cameron Palczynski
Like many outdoor activities, jousting is a fun way to relieve stress. Riding horses (and potentially knocking someone off of theirs) is a high-adrenaline exercise that is a sure-fire way to relieve your stress. Stressed about finals? Girlfriend broke up with you? Angry at your boss? Joust that stress / heartbreak / anger away!!!
Life Meet Balance
Creators:Kayla Pelletier
Nohely Fernandez Matt Breen
Christine Curtin Mikaila Horan
The title of our diorama is Life meet balance which depicts the importance of balancing occupations in daily life. The four occupations we focused on were: rest, leisure, work and play because these tend to be the main occupations of a college student’s daily life. The clock hands in the center bring the piece together to represent the need to make time for all your occupations. Lack of balance in daily life can lead to stress which is why it is important to manage your time well and to prioritize. The top left space shows a peep at rest. It is important to have enough rest for the mind and body in order to function through all your occupations. The top right space shows peeps doing yoga which represents leisure time. Leisure time can rejuvenate the mind and body and can be different for everyone. The lower right space shows a peep studying, representing work. The peep has a check list on his desk; a checklist can often be a helpful way to manage and prioritize time in order to stay on top of everything. The lower left space depicts peeps playing baseball. Play and exercise can keep you physically and mentally healthy. It is also a good way to reduce stress through the release of endorphins. Our peep is playing with friends, showing the importance of social relationships. To peep yourself stress free it is vital to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
Peeps Show Beach Day

A day at the beach can be as relaxing or active as you want it to be. Some people prefer to lie on the sand, soaking up the sun's rays to release stress, while others would like to participate in a more physical activity, like playing volleyball with friends. Opportunities at the beach are endless as you can take advantage of the tranquility of the water and the warm sun. The beach provides a place where you can go alone and enjoy peace and quiet, or tag along with a group of friends and engage in a social atmosphere. A lot of people utilize the beach as an outlet and that is why it is frequently a vacation destination!

Our diorama depicts the many ways how to Peep yourself stress free out on Thompson Hall Lawn on the UNH campus. On a sunny spring say many students use T-Hall lawn as a relaxing area for recreation. Some students line walk to exercise their mind and strengthen their balance. For other students, Frisbee is a more relaxing activity and a great game for exercise on the Great Lawn. Other students who want to use their free leisure time to kick back and relax will lie out in the sun rays on towels or catch up on leisure reading. But of course, UNH Peep students are aware of the sun’s damaging UV rays and take precautions by wearing sun screen, sunglasses, and keeping themselves hydrated.

We are students in the OT 610 class.
We based our Peeps Show on play and social support. When you are stressed it is important to take time to relieve that stress by playing with friends and people that are important to you. These peeps are "peepin it stress free" by playing various games with their friends outside. Even the "momma-peeps" are peepin it stress free by socializing with each other while their baby peeps play.
Productivity, Pleasure and Restoration
Creators:Katie Gibbs

There are many different ways in which people can choose to relieve stress. This Peeps Show display touches upon three activities that people can do each day to help relieve and manage stress. In our occupational therapy class, our group learned that three of the components that contribute to stress management are productivity, pleasure, and restoration. The first scene depicts the peep being productive while creating her ?to do list?, which organizes the tasks and activities that she will complete that day. In the second scene, the peep is playing tennis with a friend as a form of pleasure which also contributes to physical, mental, and social well being of the peep. Lastly, the third scene depicts the peep completing the restorative activity of taking a bubble bath which also fulfills an act of daily living.

This diorama shows that talking with your friends about your experiences is one of the best things you can do to take care of yourself. Being able to openly share your story with friends who are supportive, believe you and are willing to listen is what builds true connection. Having healthy connections and relationships helps us manage stress and take care of our overall wellness. Learn more about the Friends Believe Friends Campaign at: www.unh.edu/sharpp/believe.html

Soaking in the Vitamin DCreator:Judy Quist
After a long winter of cold weather making us want to stay indoors, days when we finally feel the warmth of spring feel wonderful! This diorama represents the benefit of enjoying outdoor activities to replenish our vitamin D levels. The Peeps modeling here show just some of the many different types of activities one can participate in outside- whether you are biking, roller skating, playing sports, bird watching, enjoying music or sitting back reading a good book, there’s something about being out in the warm sun and fresh air that can create calm and balance on even the most stressful of days. Special note: Humans enjoying these activities should strongly consider wearing sunscreen; Peeps have a special sugar coating that hardens to protect them when exposed to the air.
