Thenpushthenumberoftheneedle.Selecttheneedlethatneedstobethreaded.

Tuckthethreadbehindtheloopabovetheneedle,usingthethreadingtool

Thenloopthethreadunderthetwosmallhooksfromrighttoleftandloopitovertocutthethread.

There is no charge to use NIS thread or bobbins. You are charged by the number of Inches of stabilizer you use.

SETTINGTHECOLORSYoucangointothemenutochangethethreadcolorssotheymatchthecolorsonthemachine.Todothat,touchtheMENUbuttonatthebottomofthescreen.

NOTE:Theembroiderymachinewillfunctionifthecolorofthethreadandthecoloronthemachinedonotmatch.

Touchthenumberoftheneedletosetthecoloronthatneedle.Touchthecoloryou’dlikeonthecolorgrid.TouchtheSETbutton.Followthesestepsforeachneedle.Oncetheneedlehastheanchorsymbolonit,youwillnotbeabletoswapneedlecolorslaterintheprocess.(Seepage12)Togetridoftheanchorsymbol,touchtheRESETbutton.

IMPORTINGYOURFILETOTHEBABYLOCK

Onceyou’rehappywithyourembroideryfileonthecomputer,

SAVEAS(STITCHANDWORKING)totheGDRIVE.

OncethefileisontheGDrive,youwillbeabletoimportitintotheembroiderymachineusingthebuttononthelowerrightcorneroftheBabyLockscreen.

SelecttheiconandyourprojectwillappearinthemainworkareaontheBabylockscreen.Fromhere,youwillbeabletoresizeyourproject,changethecolors,rotateit,addtextorotherpreloadedimages,andmakeotherchanges.FirstyouneedtotouchtheSETbutton.

TheBabylocklistsandnumbersthecolorsforyourproject.Thisistheorderthecolorswillembroiderinyourproject.ThisdoesnotcorrespondtothelocationofthethreadontheBabylock.Youcanchangeanyandallofthecolors.Theexampleontheleftshowswherethefirstcolorislocatedinyourimageandliststhecolorasblack.Ifyouwanttochangeacolor,simplygotothedesiredcolorbyusingthe+or–buttonandthentouchingthecolorontherightthatyou’dliketochangeitto.Whenyou’redone,pushtheCLOSEbutton. Ifyou’redonemakingchangesto

yourdesign,touchtheEDITENDbutton.

Ifyou’rereadytostartsewing,touchtheSEWINGbuttoninthelowerrightcornerofthescreen.

Whenyouarereadytosew,firstpushtheLOCKbuttonandthenSTART/STOP

Thescreenwillnowshowyourartwork. Thetotalnumberofstitches.Oncetheprojectstartsitwillgivearunningtotal. andtheorderthemachinewillstitchthecolors.Inthisexample,itwillstartwiththeblack,thendoPrussianbluebeforereturningtoblackandthendoingskyblue.

Thescreenwillalsoshowthetotalminutesyourprojectwilltake.Onceyoustartembroidering,itwillgivearunningtallyofhowfaralongyouareonceyoustartembroidering. The screen also shows which color is associated with which spools. MAKE SURE THESE MATCH. If they do not match, you can reassign the colors different numbered spools.

Toreassignthespoolsassignedtoeachcolor,pushthisbutton

Tochangetheembroideryspeed,usethe+or–signs.Youmaywanttogoslowerforthickmaterialorsuchspecialtythreadasmetallic.

Toswitchwhichcolorisassignedtowhichspool.First,touchthetwospoolsyouwanttoswitch.Then,touchtheswapiconinthelowerright.Repeattheprocessasneeded.Touchclosewhenyou’redone.

HOOPINGTHEFABRIC Wehave4differentsizehoopsorframes.Hoopingworksthesameforallsizes.Thelargerhalfofhoopfitsoverthesmallerone,andtheembroiderystabilizergoesbehindthefabric.

Pressthelargerhoopoverthesmalleroneandpullthefabricandstabilizertautlikeadrum.Thebottomhalfofthehoophasascrewtotightenthehoop.Ifthefabricistoolooseinthehoop,itcancauseyourprojecttofailortheneedletobreak.

PlacingyourhopeontheBabyLock Thehoopshouldslideontothemachineandclickintoplace.Ifthereisexcessfabric,positionitsothefabrichangsoffthefrontofthemachine.

IfyouneedtoadjusttheBabyLocktoacceptalargerorsmallerframe,loosenthetwoscrewsonthebackleftandslidetheassemblytofittheframe.Whenyoutightenthosescrews,handtighteningissufficient.

2 Ifyourprojectistoobigfortheframe,youwillreceiveamessagetellingyouto“changetoalargerframe.”ThereisalimittohowmuchyoucanchangethesizeofyourprojectonceyouimportittotheBabyLock.YoumayhavetochangethesizeinthesoftwareandbringitbacktotheBabyLockwiththenewsize.
