Construction Club offers students a fun, creative outlet to build self-confidence and motor skil ls while creating keepsake models and practical items to use and treasure for years to come! Students learn how to use tools safely, problem-solve, and build projects with their own two hands. Throughout the course, students will learn to dril l, sand, hammer, paint, and f inish a quality woodworking project.

Smart with Art offers award-winning art education programs. The art club will allow f irst through sixth grade students an hour and f if teen minutes each week to devote to their hands-on art projects. They will develop their artistic skil ls and get exposure to a variety of art mediums, based on their experience and areas of interest.

Our classes teach Shaolin Kung Fu - a modern adaption of Chinese Kung Fu and Japanese Karate - specif ically designed for younger students! It is a style adaptable to all body types and f itness levels. Your student will learn the fundamentals of Martial Arts in a positive, disciplined and enjoyable atmosphere! The format of each class varies to keep students motivated and focused. Students learn creative non-violent solutions to conflict- resulting in greater self-confidence and self-discipline. We emphasize fun and safe activit ies that instil l a love for the art and the desire to progress.

Do you play the saxophone, clarinet, f lute, trumpet, or trombone? If so, join Dr. Castro and the jazz ensemble to learn the fundamentals of jazz. The jazz ensemble learns various styles of jazz music and has the opportunity to wow the community with their creative, often improvised music at school events and concerts.

Soundview School offers enriching after school activit ies for preschool through 8th grade students. Each trimester, Soundview offers classes after school to provide students with opportunities to explore new hobbies, participate in athletics, play instruments, or learn valuable skil ls. Our spring activit ies run from March 14th to June 3rd. All students are welcome. To register, please complete a registration form and return it to Soundview School.

Sprout Visual ArtPreschool & Kindergarten3:45-4:30 PM WednesdayRegistration Cost: $190

Expose your young artist to unique art mediums with lessons designed to help develop f ine motor skil ls and expand their creativity. Preschool and kindergarten students will have 45 minutes each week to explore new hands-on art projects with extensions through music and books. They will f inish the class with a number of take home masterpieces. All materials will be provided. Dress for mess!

Game Design3rd-8th grade3:45-5:00 PM WednesdayRegistration Cost: $290

Combine technology with art and creativity to create one-of-a-kind video game design! Smart with Art offers a course in game design for third through eighth grade students who want to move beyond just playing games. Working collaboratively in pairs, students will learn how to program and design a video game using Kodu Game Lab. They will work with experienced educators to design and program their very own computer games! No experience required. All materials will be provided.

KIDSTAGEPreschool-2nd grade 3:45-4:45 PM ThursdayRegistration Cost: $250

KIDSTAGE is uniquely designed to use theatre to build crit ical l ife skil ls in each participant. In KIDSTAGE classes, our techniques encourage creativity, collaboration, problem solving, concentration, public speaking, and a strong work ethic. Throughout the trimester, students will work on a specif ic story while receiving an introduction to acting. Students are improving their futures and increasing self-confidence through involvement in KIDSTAGE.

Made Sewing2nd-5th grade 3:45-5:15 PM FridayRegistration Cost: $230

Learn to sew with Made Sewing?s after school sewing club! Students will learn both hand and machine sewing while completing fun projects such as messenger bags, scarves, monsters, and more! No experience necessary. All supplies will be provided.

Beginning Strings1st-8th grade 3:30-4:00 PM FridayRegistration Cost: $75

The Beginning Strings class provides the opportunity to learn the basic skil ls for playing the violin or the cello. Our lessons will focus on the individual needs of each student for learning good sound production, note reading facility and equipment care. Beginning Strings students have fun making music while learning from an encouraging and patient instructor. Once a strong foundation of basic skil ls is developed (as determined by the instructor), students may advance to the Soundview Community Youth Orchestra where a move to viola or bass is an option. Students need to purchase their own copy of Essential Elements 2000 in the edition for their instrument (violin or cello) and provide their own instrument. All other music materials are provided.

Youth Orchestra2nd-8th grade4:15-5:30 PM FridayRegistration Cost: $150

The Soundview Orchestra is the place to build skil ls and create musical art on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Our rehearsals develop playing technique, teach ensemble music making, and challenge the students with practice in sight reading. Orchestra requires one year of experience with a violin or cello. Advanced Orchestra students will have the opportunity to learn more challenging material, take on solos, and perform as a small group. This will be a breakout group from Orchestra. Students need to purchase their own copy of Essential Elements 2000 in the edition for their instrument. All other music materials provided.
