We believe that 2002 will be a break-out vear for the School and we are excited about the new and expanded programs hat are adding value to the overall educational experience at the ichool of Tomorrow. Attending the open house were many of the partners of the School, including the D.C. Dept. of Human Service, Income Maintenance Administration, which generously supports the School of Tomorrow. The School of Tomorrow is learly at the fore- I front of meeting the need for qualit,v adult education in Washing- ton, D.C. and u'ith the continued support of our friends in the pub- lic and private sectors, we u'ill strive to serve even more underserved people with increased classes and curriculum multiple locations throughout the city. fh. S.hool of Tomorrow has a brand new lcatalogue and a recently published l newsletter that add sig*i$e*n+ly +o the grorving belicf that the School is reachiug ne\\r levels of excellence and providing affordable education to the underserved of the \,Vashington, DC community. The School's nerv theme is "Technology for the Future". The School's new Cisco Academy gives the opportunity to obtain in less than one year the coveted Cisco Certified Network Asso- ciate (CCNA) certification that can lead to high paying jobs in the IT industry. Also, the School has opened a satellite location at the Johenning Baptist Church in SE Washington, DC on a limited basis and is actively seeking funds to broaden the courses that can be offered at this and other locations around the city. GRM & World Bank Group: "A Chonce To Work" I t a time when protestors were preparing to voice opposition to the World Bank f f Group, GRM and several other organizations serving the homeless in Washing- flton, DC joined together on April 16th for a show of support and appreciation to the World Bank for their successful "A Chance to Work" program that has pro- vided employment, training and mentoring to a large number of GRM graduates over the past five years. A large group of GRM staff and program men joined with representatives of Salvation Army - Harbor Light Center, CCNV and Central Union Mission in a small park across from the World Bank headquarters facility rnd expressed appreciation in words and song. Several of the RM graduates cur- .endy working at the World Bank told of how they had taken advantage of the employment program to help find restoration in their lives. We thank Angela Wright, a United Airlines employee, for the beautiful patriotic songs that she presented. And thank you, James Wolfensohn, Peter Woike, Jennifer Sullivan, Michael Cortese and others, for the World Bank Group's commitment and courage in reaching out to those in need.
