Closing Ceremony of Leadership Management Skill Training (LMST)
Malakand Continental Hotel Mingora Swat (May 13, 2014)
Funded by European Union Implemented by SRSP
After successful completion of five days residential
trainings on “Leadership Management Skills Training
(LMST)” for men activists from different community
organizations of UC Aladand and Thana Bandajat
District Malakand, the closing ceremony was held, in
which apart from Regional HRDO Swat Region, 26 men
activists (training participants) participated. Mr. Gohar
Khan (Protection Officer, Social Welfare Department
Swat) also participated in the occasion as chief guest.

Mr. Bahadur Ali Regional HRDO Swat, while
expressions his views, thanked the chief guest
for sparing his precious time and timely
participation in the occasion. While expressing
his views, he highlighted the SRSP vision and
mission as well as working approach and
objectives to the specific training event. He
further added that we on behalf of SRSP are
trying our best to organize and facilitate such
types of training events with all possible
arrangements. He also added that we believe
that communities have potentials to do and
the SRSP is going to explore these potentials in
the shape of organized communities.

Mr. Umar Farooq (President of Taj CO, UC
Thana Bandajat), while giving his feedback
regarding the five days residential training
of LMST he appreciated the attitude of
resource persons and the valuable contents
of LMST. He was also of the opinion that
after getting this training we are now able
to get to know about our duties/rights,
rules and responsibilities. He further added
that we will onward convey the SRSP core
message to the concerned communities.
Mr. Ishtehar Hussain (President of Miras
Khel CO, UC Aladand) among the training
participants, while giving his feedback
regarding the five days residential LMST
training, he added that we learned a lot of
about social mobilization, development
concept and role of community activists. He
further expressed that we would onward
live in communities as brothers and work
together for ensuring sustainable
development in our local societies.

The Respected Chief Guest (Mr. Gohar Khan, Protection
Officer Department of Social Welfare Swat) during his
speech thanked SRSP and the entire participants. While
expressing his concluding remarks he added that we are in close
coordination with SRSP in various activities and interventions.
He was of the opinion that there is no doubt that the SRSP
interventions have brought visible change in community
development, which seems towards sustainable rural
development. He further expressed that this five days training
would be more fruitful for all the participants in the sense of
real development in communities at grassroots level and would
help us in revival of our cultural traditions i.e. Hujra, Ashar,
Jerga and collectivism. He further suggested for making
registration of community institutions with government
registration authorities, in which the social welfare department
will extend all possible cooperation. He stressed the
participants to ensure their access to different departments so
in this way the gaps between line departments and
communities would be bridged. He briefed the participants
regarding social welfare department and its activities and asked
them to get freely, if there is any question. Several questions
were raised by the participants, which were clarified by the
chief guest with entire satisfactions of the participants.

After successful completion of five days residential trainings on “Leadership Management Skills Training (LMST)” for men activists from different
community organizations of Malakand, the concluding ceremony was held, in which apart from Regional HRDO and DPM Swat, 25 men community
activists (training participants) participated. Mr. Deedar Ghani, Inspector of Police Station Mingora Swat was called as chief guest in the occasion.

Tanzeem UC Palai (one among the training
participants), while giving his feedback
regarding the training, he expressed his views
and added that during the five days training
program, we learnt a lot of about awareness
and got self confidence and the ways through
which we can access towards various
governmental departments organizations. He
also told that we would onward work as in
organized communities and will lead towards
sustainable development under self help
initiatives. He also highlighted the women role
in community development, which they
learned during the training session and added
that our women have the potentials to do a
lot and we will now give them opportunities to
work with their men and assist them in every
aspect of life. He further added that our
community leaders can play vital role in
resolving community disputes at local level.

UC Alladand), while expressing his
views as feedback regarding the five
days residential training, he added that
communities have the potential to do,
but their potential need to be explored.
He thanked SRSP for giving them
support in social and community
development.
Mr. Ijaz Ali, DPM SRSP Swat while expressions his views, he thanked the
chief guest and entire participants and added that we believe that
communities have potentials to do and the SRSP is going to explore these
potentials in the shape of organized communities. He further stressed the
community leaders to focus on their local based community organizations
and ensure the involvement of poor segments of the society in their
community and village organizations. He also added that the community
leaders can play vital role in resolving of disputes/conflicts at local level and
thus to promote their communities and ensure sustainable development.
He also stressed the community leaders to assist the local police in order to
eliminate crimes in the society.
The respected chief guest Mr. Deedar Ghani, Inspector
Police Station Mingora Swat thanked SRSP staff and the
entire participants during his speech. He further added
that the activities being done by SRSP are to be highly
appreciated. He also added that the SRSP is fulfilling the
gap between the communities and the concern
departments and access towards concerned
organizations. He stressed the community leaders to
come forward and assist local police so that to minimize
and eliminate criminal elements from the society. He
also ensured that Police Department would always
extend all possible support to the community
organizations at all level.

After successful completion of five days
residential trainings on “Leadership Management
Skills Training (LMST)” for men activists from
different community organizations of Malakand,
the closing ceremony was held, in which apart
from Regional HRDO Swat, 25 men community
activists (training participants) from UC Totakan
& UC Pir Khel District Malakand participated. Mr.
Bakht Karam, Chairman District Zakat
Committee District Shangla was invited as chief
guest in the occasion.

Mr. Bahadur Ali Regional HRDO SRSP Swat Region
thanked the chief guest for sparing his time and
timely participation in the event. He further briefed
the chief guest and entire participants regarding
SRSP vision, mission and overall goals and
objectives of EU-PEACE Project. He further added
that we on behalf of SRSP believe that communities
have the potentials to do, but their potentials need
to be explored, for which SRSP is working. While
expressing his views, he added that we are trying
our best to improve the capacity building training
programmes at all level, so that to get the desired
goals and objectives

was of the opinion that
we got a lot of
awareness in this
training regarding the
importance of
community institutions
and we have now
realized it.
Mr. Rehmanullah from UC Pir Khel Sahil Tanzeem,
while giving his feedback regarding the five days LMST,
he added that we learned a lot of about community
institutions and also got knowledge about the basic
concept of development, its types and barriers in
development faced. He further added that we have now
determined towards self help initiatives, which could
further lead us towards sustainable development. He
also shared that we have now gone through the basic
concept of social mobilization and also about active
linkages development.
Mr. Fazak Khuda from UC Pir Khel Batosar Tanzeem,
while sharing his feedback regarding the five days LMST, he
added that during the training, we got brotherhood and will
now practically demonstrate it in our local societies. He
further shared that now we know that the community
institution is not for schemes, but scheme are always for
community institutions. He also added that we should now
think positively to resolve the local disputes with mutual
consensus.
The Respected Chief Guest Mr. Bakht Karam,
Chairman District Zakat Committee Shangla,
thanked SRSP staff and the entire participants
while presenting his concluding remarks. He added
that it is a common saying that “God helps those,
who help themselves”, that’s why we are members
of the society and have responsibilities to fulfill. He
also briefed the participants about the department
of Ushar & Zakat as well as zakat disbursement
procedures in detail. He stressed the participants
to show their patience and dedication at all level.

Welfare, UC Kot), while giving his
feedback regarding the five days
residential training of LMST, he
thanked SRSP for providing such type
of training platforms for learning in
better environment. He added that we
got a lot of about community
mobilization and we now onward
would try our best to get ourselves
organized. He on behalf of the entire
participants promised to increase our
savings and strengthen our community
institutions and specially focus
collectivism instead of individualism as
get back homes.

of five UCs i.e. Thana Badajat, Palai, Pir Khel,
Totakan and Selai Patay District Malakand, the
closing ceremony was held, in which apart from
SSO Malakanad and Regional HRDO Swat Region,
50 men activists (training participants)

Social Welfare Department Swat) also
participated in the occasion as chief guest.
