Fr.Fr.Fr.Fr. Keith’s Korner Keith’s Korner Keith’s Korner Keith’s Korner I hope that you have enjoyed quality Christmas

time with family and friends this past week. It takes many creative people working together to make our parish celebrations of Christ’s birth prayerful and inspiring. Many thanks to the coordinators of all our liturgical ministries for their leadership at Christmas and throughout the year. We are also grateful to our musicians and decorators for the way they are able to create beauty in our simple gym setting. And thanks to our set-up teams-- and the Knights of Columbus who led the rosary before Mass during the season of Advent and assisted with parking at 4 PM Mass on Christmas Eve. We had a good response to our Christmas Basket program during Advent and a report is included in this bulletin. In the name of all the families in inner-city Baltimore whose Christmas was a little bit brighter because of this project-- thanks for your generosity. Our parish definitely made a real difference in the lives of others! We are also grateful to Peg O’Hara for her dedication in coordinating this project for many years. There are two weekend retreats scheduled for next month which may be helpful to you. The Retrovaille weekend is designed for troubled marriages, and the Rachel’s Vineyard weekend assists with healing after abortion. More information is included in this bulletin. As we begin 2013, let us pray with confidence in a spirit of hope about the future. You are cordially invited to our New Year’s Eve Interfaith Celebration—the concert begins at 7:30 PM and the Prayer Service at 8:00 PM. Please note that the Holyday Mass for the Feast of Mary, Mother of God will be celebrated on New Year’s Day at 10:00 AM. Next weekend, as we observe the Feast of Epiphany (and our multi-cultural origins), our regular schedule of Saturday (5 PM) and Sunday (9 AM & 11 AM) Masses will be celebrated.

Normally, the amount of this distribution is taxed as ordinary income. However, as a result of federal legislation enacted several years ago, you may make a direct distribution from your IRA to a qualified charity, such as our parish, anytime between now and the end of 2012. Such distributions are not subject to income tax and count toward fulfilling your required minimum distribution. For more information about how you and the parish can benefit from an IRA charitable rollover, please contact the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Community Foundation (410-547-5356) or visit www.archbalt.org/cff.
