Fr. Keith’s Korner Fr. Keith’s Korner Fr. Keith’s Korner Fr. Keith’s Korner Each year at Christmastime we reach out to

assist low income families in the area around Saint Gregory the Great Church in inner city Baltimore. We are hoping to assist 166 families with gift cards to the nearest stores: Giant and Target. Our sign up process starts this weekend, and I invite you to connect with another family in this way during the holiday season, living out our mission statement of “giving selflessly.” Thanks to Peg O'Hara who has coordinated this program with such dedication for so many years. We will be voting for four new members of the Pastoral Council at Mass next weekend. The candidates' resumes are posted both in the Gathering Space and on our parish website. I hope you will review them prayerfully in order to vote for our future parish leadership in an informed manner. Their photos are also included on a bulletin insert this weekend. Advent begins on Sunday 30 November. For two weekends we will have a display of Advent wreathes, candles, books and calendars after all the Masses. Also, please be aware that you may order gift cards to use as holiday gifts or stocking stuffers and help our Building Fund at the same time. Forms are available at the gift card table after Mass and on our parish website. End of life decisions can be difficult to face, and confusing at times. A bulletin insert this weekend offers a web address to two free documents produced by the Catholic Bishops of Maryland, one articulating church guidance about these important issues, and the other providing a document for you to specify your final wishes (in accord with Maryland law.) I hope you will find this website and these documents helpful. My dad and his wife have agreed to move from Arizona to Massachusetts (where she has lots of family) so my prayers have been answered. For me to fly from BWI airport to Springfield is only a little over one hour!
