Game Talk:
Last Time Out
“We are always looking
to adjust and we are
especially working on the
defensive piece. The guys
are working hard.”
— Head Coach David Brandt
Game Notes:
Team Rosters:
Pittsburgh: Harrisburg:
· The Riverhounds (2-10-4) face off against the Harrisburg City Islanders (4-13-2) in round two of the Keystone Derby Cup presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery and K&L Gates. Dropping their last two, the Hounds are hoping to not only break their losing streak, but also a goalless streak that has now extended to three matches after a 2-0 defeat against the Richmond Kickers this past Thursday.
· The last time the Hounds were shutout in three-consecutive matches came in 2014, in a season that saw the club finish 9-14-5. Already shutout six times this year, the Hounds will look to avoid the 2014 club’s overall shutout total of nine. At 16 matches in 2014, the Hounds were 3-9-4, shutout five times, and had 17 goals compared to the 14 scored by the club this season.

· Lebo Moloto attempted to jumpstart the Hounds attack against Richmond, racking up four shots and two shots on goal. Moloto, along with Kevin Kerr and Corey Hertzog, will all need to play vitals roles in breaking through on the score sheet, as they have each led the Hounds in shots and shots on goal in the past three matches, respectively. Kerr and Moloto, in particular, will look to regain their form in the midfield from last season that saw them combine for 16 goals and 16 assists.
· The first meeting of the season between these two clubs resulted in a 0-0 draw – the first in the rivalry since June 14, 2014 in Harrisburg. After winning two-straight in late May, the City Islanders have struggled mightily, earning points in only one of their next nine matches – a stretch that has also included five shutouts.
