Pacific Northwest Paint Horse Club

General Membership Meeting

June 14, 2014

Called to order by President Marian Belcher at Denny’s, Arlington, WA

BBQ reminders is July 13th at Silver Quarters. Please bring friends!

Breed show: We need to negotiate more on the contract for next year, there were some

charges on the contract that we didn’t know about, such as a charge for using too many

garbage cans. The club is still getting helpful feedback about the show and choosing a date

for next year. The two complaints we have received about the time of the year were that it

fell on Easter, and it was only one weekend after the Albany show.

Scholarship: Tabitha needs to go back to minutes a couple years ago and search to see what

we had talked about doing with the youth funds in terms of scholarships.

Stallion preview: still looking for someone to take it over.

Next meeting will be at the BBQ. Social hour and games start at noon.

"Western Attire" means .... It has come to our attention that the new wording for "Western Attire" in the 2014

Official APHA Rule Book Supplement has caused some confusion.

A clarification follows for Rule SC-235.A. that should be used going forward.

"In halter and all Western classes, appropriate Western attire is required, which includes: pants, ankle-length or longer* (slacks, trousers, jeans, etc.); shirt, blouse or showmanship-type jacket with long sleeves and a collar (band, standup, tuxedo, etc.). A vest accompanied with a long sleeve shirt or blouse with a collar, and/or a jacket with a shirt that has a collar, is acceptable. A Western hat and cowboy boots are also required. Exhibitors wearing attire that has been deemed inappropriate by the judge will be disqualified. The use of spurs, chaps and hard hats are

9

optional. *Exception: Religious reasons. See Rule SC-160.O.1 regarding logos."

Please contact me if you have any questions.
