A father is a man who loves without cost to his children and tries to raise them to be fully

human creatures with the abilities to make a difference in our world. Some fathers are

successful, some are not. However, almost all try their best. This Father's Day, let your

dad know that you appreciate all his efforts.

Strength--Your strength in helping me to tell right from wrong was a great gift.

Honor--You taught me that to honor myself was a way to honor the God who made me.

Faith--Thanks Dad for having faith in me, when I was not sure I had faith in myself.

Love--You loved me even when I did not love myself. For that I am grateful.

ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Inspiration for the Week

Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, the tiniest of seeds. When planted, the tiny mustard seed grows into a tremendous tree with large branches. So, too, in each of our lives, small things can have profound effects. God can use one of our more insignificant gestures to radically change another person's life. It may be the kindness of a smile, our willingness to accommodate someone, listening to someone's story, helping someone who is hurting, stand-ing up for someone who is right, or complimenting some-one on something they did. We all have God-given gifts and talents. Our task is to use them creatively, consistently, lovingly, and generously. We trust that God will take care of the rest.

The Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette

will preach the annual parish mission appeal

on June 30-July 1

Having brought the fullness of Life to our world when He rose from the dead Jesus sent his disciples to share this life with all of creation. “They went forth and preached everywhere” (Mk 16:20). The Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette minister to people of every race, lan-guage, culture and way of life—beginning at the LaSalette Shrine in France where our Blessed Mother appeared in 1846. Her final words, “Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people,” ech Jesus’ Gospel Mandate. It is little wonder that the LaSalette Congregation has al-ways been mission orientated. When called upon by the Vatican to preach the Gospel in foreign lands, they eagerly responded. This spirit brought them to mission in 27 coun-tries, especially among the poor in Angola, Argentina, Bo-livia, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Myanmar and the Philip-pines. With your cooperation, the Missionaries of LaSalette can continue to provide spiritual and financial assistance to these mission countries as they bring God’s reconciling message to the poor. Special note about Speaker: Fr. John Higgins is a LaSalette priest who has ministered in Argentina for over 21 years and in Bolivia 11 years. As a native of the Boston area, he currently is in active ministry as Senior Priest now serving at the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Hartford, CT. Fr. Higgins finds great joy in sharing his missionary experiences with the parish families as he gives the Mission Appeals.
