What is CALL?

• The computer assisted language learning makes reference to the application of the computers (CPU) and peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, microphone, speakers, video camera, printer, etc.) and to many computer programs (browsers, educational games, etc.). Is a didactic application of Information Technologies and Communication Technologies (ICT).

• These new media makes a computer a tool for the student, allowing them to learn or practice the language at any time and communicate with the teacher through the distance, and giving us the possibility to get an electronic learning

Which is the roll of the students in CALL?

• Responsible for learning: Students take charge of their own learning and are self-regulated. They define learning goals and problems that are meaningful to them; they understand which activities are related with their objectives.

• Motivated learning: They have a passion for solving problems and understand ideas and concepts.

• Collaborative: Students understand that learning is social. Are "open" to listen the ideas of others.

• Strategic: Students continually develop and refine learning and problem solving strategies
