DESCRIPTION
Title Learning in a Virtual Environment: Managing Emergency Preparedness and Health Security Using Second Life as a Teaching Tool Presenter(s) Susan Spencer, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ, USA, [email protected] Anne Hewitt, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ, USA, [email protected] Rameshsharma Ramloll, Idaho State University, [email protected], Heidi Trotta, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ, USA, [email protected] As virtual learning becomes a convenient and accepted pedagogical tool, health management faculty are challenged to successfully update face-2-face team exercises into web-based scenarios available to both on-campus and online students. This session presents the successful integration of a virtual learning scenario (Play2Train) in a Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) course using the Second Life platform. During this web-based presentation, panelists will cover the step-by-step process in scenario development and provide examples from the faculty instruction manual, student workbook, and assessment tools. Presenters include administration, faculty, an instructional designer, and a scenario developer.TRANSCRIPT
