FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.

Block Assembly1. Sew (1) B 3” x 40”strip to each side of the A32-1/2” x 40” panel. Sew(1) B 3” x 37-1/2” strip tothe top and to the bottom of the A panel. Trim the block to measure 36-1/2” x 44-1/2” to make the Center Block.

2. Place (1) H-Template 1triangle on top of (1)G-Template 2 triangle, rightsides together, aligning the leftsides. Sew the (2) trianglestogether along the left side.Press the smaller triangleopen.

3. Place (1) H-Template 3 triangle on top of theG-Template 3 triangle, right sides together, aligningthe right sides. Sew the (2) triangles together alongthe right side. Press the smaller triangle open tomake (1) Unit 1 square. Trim the unit to measure3-1/2” square.

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (40) Unit 1 squarestotal.

5. Place (1) F 2” square on the bottom left corner of(1) Unit 1 square, right sides together. Sew acrossthe diagonal of the smaller square from the upperleft corner to the lower right corner. Flip open thetriangle formed and press. Trim away the excessfabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from thesewn seam.

6. Follow the diagram below for the seam directionto add a F 2” square to the lower right corner of theUnit 1 square to make (1) Unit 2 square.

7. Repeat Steps 5-6 to make (40) Unit 2 squarestotal.

8. Sew (1) H 3-1/2” square to eachside of (1) Unit 2 square to makethe top row. Repeat to make thebottom row. Sew (1) Unit 2 squareto each side of (1) E 3-1/2” squareto make the middle row. Sew the (3)rows together lengthwise to make(1) Block One square. Repeat tomake (5) Block One squares total.

12. Sew (3) Block One squares, (4) H 2-3/4” x9-1/2” strips and (2) Block Two squares together.Sew the newly sewn strip to the top of the CenterBlock.

13. Sew (3) Block Two squares, (4) 2-3/4” x 91/2”strips and (2) Block One squares together. Sew thenewly sewn strip to the bottom of the Center Blockto make the quilt top.
