Hello Pirate football family, friends and fans. This is a new initiative we are trying this year to improve the lines of communication between the football program and parents. We will send out this newsletter at the beginning of each month. We will highlight events that occurred during the previous month and preview the upcoming schedule of events. We will also highlight accomplishments of current players as well as put the spotlight on some alumni who are doing great things post Rocky River High School. So feel free to spread the word and share the newsletter. We will be more than happy to add people to our email list for the newsletter if they want to stay in the loop on all the happenings of the Rocky River Football Pr ogr am . Of f-season Over v iewWith the 2017 season ending w ith the Pir ates f inishing in 9th place in the playoff r egion (top 8 teams make the playoffs) the coaching staff knew there needed to be changes made to the off-season. We adjusted our l i f ting program as well as the time we l i f ted. Monday, Wednesday and Fr iday morning at 6:15am football players who were not in a w inter spor t were at school r eady to l i f t!

After the f i r st 8 weeks the increase in str ength was incredible! We had 8 players have their four l i f t total go over 1000lbs. This is great news seeing as there were only 3 players that achieved that level when we tested in Januar y. The 1000lb Club

achievers are as fol lows:

- Paul Broschk- Ergi Sulce- Henr y Jacques- Devin Gw inn- Daishaun Hi l l- Seth Dimacchia

- Jack Ohlemacher- Haden Zwolenik

We also had 3 young men reach "Iron Man" status for not missing a day of l i f t ing for the f i r st 8 weeks of l i f t ing.

- Paul Broschk- Haden Zwolenik- Ergi Sulce

These young men received hoodies for their accomplishment of per fect attendance!

To compliment our l i f ting program, the Marooner 's graciously paid for our players to attend Speed Training at T3 Per formance in Avon. This is open to players in grades 9-12 as well as some middle school players. This takes place ever y Sunday from 5:30-6:30pm.
