an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and/or experienced Teaching assistant to support our primary pupils in a Special School for pupils with complex communication difficulties and autism.

within the primary department the successful candidate will be expected to support groups or classes of students in their learning, cover for teacher/lSa absence and PPa time, organise other staff within classes as appropriate, prepare resources, plan and deliver lessons at short notice and maintain pupil records to assist their development.

Essential criteria for this post include:

• higher level Teaching assistant (hlTa) standard or equivalent qualifications or experience

• Significant experience of working in a school environment. This does not necessarily need to be in a special school, but you should have a passion and enthusiasm for choosing to work with pupils with special educational needs

• understanding of statutory frameworks related to teaching and learning for early years

• experience of working within an early years environment either nursery or foundation

• literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to nVQ level 2

we require a person to work with children with a diagnosis of autistic Spectrum Disorder, across both Key Stages 1 and 2. you will be supporting the academic, social and communication needs of individuals in the Support centre, leading to inclusion in mainstream classes. for this you will need to be well organised, enthusiastic, caring, have a good sense of humour and have experience of working with children with a diagnosis of aSD.

The ideal candidate will have an nVQ3, experience of working one to one with pupils with Sen and demonstrate a willingness to work as part of a team.

MEAL-TIME ASSISTANTNJC Grade A (temporary) The post holder is required to work for 5.4 hours per week (12.15pm to 1.15pm daily) to support a pupil, who has sensory, physical and communication needs recognised with a Statement of educational need.

These roles could be combined and undertaken by one post-holder.
