Temporarypositionrequiredforimmediatestartorassoonaspossible.Thispostisspecificallyrequiredtoprovideindividualisedsupporttoayoung person who is deaf-blind. The post would involve working with a specialist team for multisensory impairment and other sensory specialist TAtoprovidehighqualityprovisionforayoungperson.ApplicantsshouldbequalifiedtoaminimumofNVQ3levelorequivalent.

The key aspects of this role are: to provide sensory interpretation of the world to the child to support their learning, promote effective communication and develop personal independence skills. This post willrequiresomeunderstandingofvisualandhearingimpairmentaswell as multisensory impairment. Training can be provided for very specialised skills such as BSl signing and on-body communication. an understanding of the principles of behaviour management and interpreting communication through behaviour would be an advantage.

Thisroleprovidesanexcitingopportunitytosupportachildinauniquewaywhichbringsmanyrewards.Thesuccessfulapplicantwould be working within a class team and would receive the support and guidance of the woodlands Sensory advice team to constantly improveanddeveloptheirskillsandexpertiseinthisarea.
