Kent City Village Constructs New Parking Lot The combined efforts of the Kent City Community DeveiopmentAsso- ciation and the Village of Kent City lias provided the village with the much-needed off-su-eet parking and a small park area. The parking site is located on Ma in Street a cross from the main business area and is expected to be surfaced and ready for use by Thursday of this week. In this cooperative venture, the village purchased one of the lots and the Development Association procured the lot adjacent to it for tile development of adequate off- street parking. Following the questionnaire sent out by the newly organized Develop- ment Association, it was determined that parking facilities were the num- ber one need at Kent City. Requests for a small park area were dis- closed in this questionnaire also. The Development Association is preparing a brochure to advertize the advantages and facilities of the village in an effort to attract indus- try. business, anodier physician, and residents to die area. o REWARD OFFERED A $50.00 reward lias been posted for information leading to the ap- prehension of the party or parties who have repeatedly broken into the building at the Sparta Rodeo Grounds and destroyed property diere. A parade starting at noon will kick off die festivities followed by refreshments and a neighborhood gathering in die Westgate Park. Algoma Township Plan Commission At die first meeting of the newly created Algoma Township Planning Commission held on June 21 Robert Fischer was elected Chairman, Don- ald Ives as Vice-Chairman and Jack Clark as Secretary. Other mem- bers of die Commission are Rex Ricliardson, Jack Van Dyke, Robert Dufort and Hugh Long. It will be die purpose of the Plan- ning Commission to prepare a com- prehensive plan for the future devel- opment of die Township. This will include areas and regulations for residential, commercial and pos- sible industrial growth.
