While most areas in the province saw fluctuations through 2012, HVOTP real es-

tate flourished. Sales bordered 180 homes with 16 available for sale or lease as of December 31st.

The average Days On Market (DOM) for all homes that sold in 2012, was 23 -- slightly below Milton’s average DOM of 25. In No-

vember, we saw a spike up to 40 days for detached homes while town homes remained consistent in the mid 20’s.

We continue to get many inquiries about moving to this neighbour-hood as everything points to a continued strong and healthy market for Milton and HVOTP going into 2013. We’ve included some interest-ing facts (right) displaying the top sellers for 2012.

Ariel Kormendy and Adrian Trott are realtors who live in and specialize in the HVOTP community. Get their professional opinion before buy-ing or selling. Contact them at

FRO M H O U S E TO H O M EMy perennial honey-do list

By: Ariel Kormendy

Before moving into phase 1 of HVOTP, I knew I was going to have a lot of work ahead of me. As with any house, making it your home can be a lot of work.

Moving from one of Mattamy’s Village Homes to a 36’ detached “Plan 12” I was upgrading the size of my home, the maintenance required and the list of to-do’s.

Thanks to a little bit of professional help, my list shrunk going into 2013, but there’s still lots of work ahead! They say the Kitchen is the heart of the home, so that’s where I started. Take a look at these before and after pictures and let me know what you think!

Are you proud of a project you’ve com-

pleted? We’ll post them in the next issue and you’ll be entered into a draw to

win a $100 Home Depot gift card!

Featured ResidentsNew to #Milton? Looking for ways to stretch your #marketing #budget? In this virtual world, there’s no bigger bang for your buck than harnessing the power of social media. “Social media is such a dominant factor in marketing, I don’t even need to explain to clients how essential it is to the success of their business,” explains Marketing Manager and CEO of Social Motion Media, Debbie Bruce. “The challenge is finding the time and resources to implement it successfully. That’s where we come in.”

Having recently moved to Hawthorne Village on the Park in November, Debbie is looking forward to meeting the many new neighbours in this cozy little pocket of Milton and creating long-lasting relationships, both business and personal. When not working, she enjoys getting out into the fresh Milton air with her husband and two boys, and is currently working on completing her second fiction novel.

My business started in 2002 as a means to pay my way through university. I built my company around maintaining small business and home computers, strictly through word-of-mouth. Fast for-ward 11 years, I find myself still doing what I enjoy most – tinkering with new gadgetry, fixing com-puters, and helping to solve technological problems.

What I offer is simple – Absolutely free technology advice! If you’re having a problem, need direction or just an opinion on a brand, send me an email to [email protected] and I’ll try my best to get you the answer you’re looking for. No need to lug around your 20-pound computer, or pay a big bill for a simple fix.

If you’re just tired of fighting with something, let me know and we’ll work out a reasonable rate to get you up and running. Simple as that!
