You Can Save a Life - Donate Blood @ the Library!

On January 6th from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., we’ll roll up our sleeves and help save lives! We will proudly partner with the American Red Cross to hold what we expect to be the first of many blood drives.

Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many

A Call to Coolidge Authors!

Are you a local author, living in Coolidge? We want to hear from you!

In the early spring of 2016 (date TBD), we will be hosting “Read Local,” which will be an event where local authors can gather, learn from one another, and showcase their work for the com-munity. If you are an author and would like to be a part of this event, we ask that you contact

us by January 15th. You will be given an appli-cation to complete and we will then be in touch with you once we have addi-tional details about the event.

Homebrewing 101 Are you interested in the process of brewing your own beer at home? Join us as Dennis from the Arizona Society of Homebrewers goes over the basics in this unique DIY workshop.

Learn about what goes into the process of homebrewing, from ingredients and equip-ment to fermentation and bottling.

This is an excellent opportunity for those that are interested in the overview of this craft.

Those that attend must be at least 21 years of age. We are encouraging registration (free).

Tween Titans will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8th and 22nd.

Fun Van

The Fun Van, sponsored by First Things First, is an early childhood program for families with children

ages birth-5. Trainings in the form of parent discussions, parent/child activities, educa-tion about available resources, and exposure to early literacy materials assist parents in raising children that are prepared for school and life.

The program is on Mondays from 10:00 a.m —12:00 p.m. and Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Registration is required to attend the Fun Van, and there is a limited number of walk-ins avail-able each week. Please visit http://www.ajpl.org/van/ for instructions, or ask us for a Fun Van flyer.

Weekly Storytime

Weekly Storytime is every Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. and is geared to children ages 1-4. Storytime includes a story or two as well as a fun craft.

Occasionally we provide snacks. Parents must remain with young children. Registration is not required.

LEGO Club

This is an exciting program for children ages 5-12 years old. We

supply the LEGOS and the children supply the imagination! Lego Club will meet at 4:00 p.m. on January 15th and 29th.

Lego Club is great for kids because it helps en-hance their fine motor skills, their social, and

problem solving skills as well. With the fun challenges we provide, Lego Club can also be a way to help strengthen those STEM skills, too!
