GUTS & Courage Scholarship ApplicationPHILOSOPHYOmega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is a service organization committed to the principle of Scholarship. Our founders: Ernest Just, Edgar Love, Oscar Cooper and Frank Coleman, saw scholarly attainment as an honorable endeavor. As a result, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has for several decades provided scholarships to students in pursuit of higher education and this legacy continues today.



GALLANT UNCONQUERABLE TWELVE SOULS (G.U.T.S)On March 29, 2014 twelve gallant, unconquerable men were inducted into the Nu Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. This accomplishment came after great trial and many challenges. However, through courage and perseverance, these men endured hardship and committed to the lifelong principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift.

To commemorate their one year anniversary in the fraternity, G.U.T.S decided to establish a scholarship that would award a high school senior or college freshman who has exemplified guts and courage in pursuit of their own goals. This annual scholarship will be a testament to the



many benefits that come to those who persevere.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Must be a graduating high school senior or freshman in college (current academic year) 2.50 minimum academic G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale (an official high school transcript is required).

APPLICATION WILL BE SCORED BASED UPON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA Academic Achievement Community Service/Involvement



Extra-curricular Activity, and 500 word Essay (See full description on page 3)

AWARD: $1000

DEADLINE: All Applications must be received by Thursday, June 30, 2016
