(Published in NewsHopper Sat., Sept. 27; Oct. 4, 2008)notice of public
hearing on adoption of a recorded state
forest road map for the purpose of
recording prescriptive
easements for state forest roads
in aitkin county
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Nat-ural Resources (DNR) propos-es to record prescriptive ease-ments for state forest roads in Aitkin County.
Minnesota Statutes, Section 89.715, Alternative Record-ing for State Forest Road au-thorizes the Commissioner to adopt a recorded state forest road map under this section to record the department’s state
forest road prescriptive ease-ments. For purposes of this section, “recorded state forest road map,” means the official map of state forest roads. The roads to be recorded will be to the width of the actual use, including ditches, backslopes, fills and maintained rights-of-way, unless otherwise speci-fied in a prior easement of record.
The DNR will hold a pub-lic meeting on the proposed prescriptive easements at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Long Lake Conser-vation Center in central Aitkin County. This effort is being conducted in conjunction with Aitkin County. The DNR and Aitkin County staff will present information and receive public comments on the proposal at the meeting.
Those giving advance no-tice of their intention to speak at the hearing will be heard prior to any additional speak-ers. Although all who wish to speak will be allotted time to do so, only those comments that are submitted in writing will be entered into the perma-nent record.
The proposed easements, supporting documentation and related maps are available on the DNR website at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestry/easement/index.html. Docu-ments may also be viewed at the Aitkin Area Forestry Office or DNR Central Office 500 La-fayette Road, St. Paul. Ques-tions and written comments may be directed to Jerry Bourbonnais, Road Easement Specialist, Minnesota Depart-ment of Natural Resources, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155, (612) 390-4012, [email protected].
