Among various activities of WWW, there were the Ceremony Team Evaluations, American Indian Dancing, a QR Code Scavenger Hunt, Bottle Rocket Shooting, Rock Climbing, Shooting Sports, and much, much more. In this event, Tiwahe brought over 70 youth and adult arrowmen, and an even greater amount of spirit. Our spirit items for the event were Vuvuzelas, or large horns, which constantly reminded the other Lodges that Tiwahe was present and ready for fellowship. A highly anticipated aspect of this event were the shows, which surpassed all expectations, having a masterfully crafted rendition of the Order of the Arrow Legend, a renowned hypnotist, and an ending which culminated in a barrage of fireworks that lit the skies and inspired all. October 2014

On October 17, 81, and 19, Tiwahe, Papago, Wipila-Wiki, and Nebagamon Lodges came

together at the Heard Scout Pueblo for the 2014 W6W Conclave. Among various activities of

WWW, there were the Ceremony Team Evaluations, American Indian Dancing, a QR Code

Scavenger Hunt, Bottle Rocket Shooting, Rock Climbing, Shooting Sports, and much, much more.

In this event, Tiwahe brought over 70 youth and adult arrowmen, and an even greater amount of

spirit. Our spirit items for the event were Vuvuzelas, or large horns, which constantly reminded the

other Lodges that Tiwahe was present and ready for fellowship. A highly anticipated aspect of this

event were the shows, which surpassed all expectations, having a masterfully crafted rendition of

the Order of the Arrow Legend, a renowned hypnotist, and an ending which culminated in a

barrage of fireworks that lit the skies and inspired all. They served as a reminder to those present

that an arrowmen that acts with professionalism and dedication can accomplish any goal. On

Sunday before departure, elections were held for the 2014-2015 Section Officers. The results are as

follows:

Section Chief: Vianney Carega

Section Vice Chief: Brien Heiberger

Section Secretary: Vacant

The office of Section Secretary was declared vacant because the four lodges were unable to reach a

majority when deciding the position. There will be another election for the position at the next

Section Business meeting, and any individual who is interested in the position should make a point

to attend with a letter of recommendation from the Staff Advisor and a prepared statement. There

will be information on this when it is available. After the election, it was announced that our

ceremony team, pictured below, was named the Honor Team for the 2014 Ceremony Team

evaluations for their skillful performance of the Ordeal Ceremony.

Josh Person and Jeremy Whipple with their Honor Team Medals. Other team members Ben Rollins and Gaetano Barnes not pictured.

With this and a short business meeting, Conclave

was concluded, and those present began on the

long drive back to California, ready to return to the

Lodge with increased devotion to our Brotherhood

of Cheerful Service.

Lodge Chief’s Minute…,

Fellow Arrowmen, The year is quickly coming to a close, but your lodge leadership is as busy as ever! Even with Conclave over, we are still looking forward to our Fall Fellowship, as well as our year end banquet! And while all of this is going on, we have started fundraising for the 2015 NOAC at Michigan State University. So I urge you, my brothers, to go out, get active, and I look forward to seeing you at our Fellowship at Camp Balboa!

YiB Michael Palmisciano

Lodge Advisor’s Minute…,

Fellow Arrowmen, As we welcome Fall, I would like to look back at the great year we have had so far. We have some success with our Ordeals this year, inducting over 200 new members to our Lodge. Welcome to all our new Ordeal members. Our Lodge Ordeal was very successful and had a large member turn out. A big thank you to everyone who participated. As we look forward to the end of the year, I just want to highlight a few things: Lodge Fall Fellowship will be at Camp Balboa, November 7-9, another great opportunity to fellowship, learn and have fun with our lodge members. See http://oa.sdicbsa.org/docs/7.%20Lodge%20Fellowship%20Reg.%202014%20(1).doc for registration. Our Lodge Leadership Development and Lodge Banquet will be January 3rd. More information to come. We encourage everyone to attend both. All Chapter and Lodge Leadership members should attend LLD, new and old. Make sure you come to the banquet to fellowship and help celebrate those who will be receiving awards. We will be announcing this year’s Vigil Candidates, Crossed Feathers Recipients, as well as installing our new Lodge Leadership group. Looking forward to next year, we have the opportunity to participate in many 100th Anniversary programs. NOAC 2014, Section Conclave to be held here in San Diego, hosted by us, and the ArrowTour. I hope each member is working on their Arrowman Service Award; details can be found here: http://www.oa-bsa.org/pages/content/centennial-update-2014-07-3 Let’s finish 2014 strong and continue to provide Cheerful Service in all we do! CHAPTER UPDATES

HeSepa – Black Mountain Chief: Nathan Nisil [email protected] Adviser:Wade Page [email protected]

HeSepa chapter members cheerfully provided service to the Black Mountain District’s popcorn distribution day for local packs and troops. Youth and Adult Arrowmen loaded over 2000 cases of palleted popcorn, and watched as Mrs. Palmisciano skillfully demonstrated her forklift skills! With some packs bringing in U-Hauls for their in for their inventories, they were extremely grateful for the assistance from the HeSepa Arrowmen.

Our chapter also had a pizza party where the Chapter Advisor and Secretary demonstrated their powers of ESP through 9 Sheets of paper. Many Arrowmen spent the evening attempting to tune in to their brainwaves, but only 2 were able to achieve the challenge.

LODGE HAPPENINGS

Hogan Restoration

The Hogan at Mataguay was partially restored on October 4th. A work party of 21 hearty souls showed their individual talents to complete or partially complete the major parts of the job, leaving some goodies for a Chapter or the Lodge to wrap up. The roof needs another coat of sealant due to a giant seagull visiting and causing quite a stir. The eaves need to be re-built as well. Outside the grounds were cleared of rubbish and brush and treated to a gravel cover-up. Inside the electric work is nearly finished, the Steens got the wires pulled and light installed incorrectly, and the majority of the ceiling fans put together. The vents are cut and covered, but one more break in the wall needs to be covered. Lots of interior and exterior 'chinking' was completed. The question arose concerning installation of a display case in the Hogan. What would go into it and would it be secure. Any ideas?

A fine gourmet lunch was prepared and served by Mr. James Lennon of Cordon Bleu and SDICC fame.

All in all a memorable day. Check with your Chapter for pictures.
