Like Harper Lee and Jean Louise “Scout” Finch, you have a story, too. And while you’re not quite “grown” yet, your narrative about how you’ve come to this place/space in your life is valuable. Influences that take center stage -when you reflect on how you’ve come to be you- should be featured in your personal narrative. Choose one of the following options by which to tell that story: Write a children’s book, featuring pictures/drawings/artwork, that centers around a life lesson you’ve learned because of an experience you’ve had. It should be appropriate for 3rd-5th grade readers. 10 pages minimum, printed in color booklet form Put together a film, documenting with pictures, testimonials, newspaper clippings, etc. that shares with your audience insights on an aspect of your life. e film should be 5-7 minutes long and clear voice over narration should be used. Create a music album that features 3 original songs about a time in your life where you learned a valuable lesson, but each song must be written from varied perspectives about the same lesson. Be creative with those perspectives, which can include age, participant perspectives, instrument variation, etc. Choose 10 axioms from the novel and create 10 spine poems that thoughtfully utilize the words from those quotes within the new poems. See back for details.
