Parent Meeting
When is the trip?
Monday, May 23rd through Friday, May 27th
How much will it cost?• Between $300 and $400 – unknown until I know the exact
number of people going • Parents are welcome and
encouraged to come along– Cost drops with more people!
Destination• Michigan!– Empire: Sleeping Bear Dunes– Mackinac City and Mackinac Island– Traverse City: Great Wolf Lodge– Grayling: Hartwick Pines– Kalkaska: Camp Tapico– Suttons Bay: Inland Seas
How will we travel?
What’s on the Itinerary?• Canoe trip– 2-4 hour trip down the beautiful Manistee River
• COPE course– Team building activities/games first– Obstacle course 40 feet up!
• Hartwick Pines and Logging Museum– 1-2 guided trail tour – Oldest trees in Michigan
Continued…Itinerary• Great Wolf Lodge– stay Thursday night– Indoor water park in Traverse City– Free beach towel– Movie and popcorn night– Arcade tokens– 2 days of water park usage– Italian Dinner buffet – Breakfast buffet
Continued…Itinerary• Full day at Mackinac Island– 2 hour carriage tour of the island – Tour Fort Mackinac– Lunch in groups– Rent bikes and tour island in groups
• Sleeping Bear Dunes– Located in Empire Michigan– Dune climb– Panoramic view– Scenic drive

• Inland Seas (Sutton’s Bay)– 4 hours on the bay– Great Lakes stewardship program– Kids learn through hands on experiences (ecology,
history, geography, geology, biology, chemistry and meteorology)
Will extra $ be needed?
• Money will be needed for a few meals not included in the total cost of the trip– fast food lunches on the road – lunch on Mackinac Island
Trip Contract
• Contract will need to be signed by both parents and students.

Fundraising• Renee’ Bowen and Barb
Dangler will be organizing the fundraisers for this year
• Trip Balance will be due early in May
