From the desk of the CEOMost manufacturers, baring VW / Audi and Nissan, have recognised dealerships andindividuals who excelled in their respectiveexcellence programs.

Big congratulations to all who were given recognition by their respective franchise principals. A great achievement and a proud moment.

The first quarter of the current calendar year has come and gone.

Economic forecasts, as well as the stream of bad news coming from the public sector can-not be ignored and apriority to come must see Government, business and labour holding hands together to come up with ways and means to address economic disparity in our country through a growing economy.

Economic forecasts are 2 – 3% growth until 2018. Slow growth will lead to expectation not being met. A great concern for business is that trade unions have been squabbling amongst themselves.

Their leadership is failing the people they are supposed to represent. Union officers, it seems, are more interested in their personal agendas and position rather than representing their members.

Various strikes, intimidation, damage to property and lives being lost is leading to a loose/loose situation between employers and employees.

What we have to do in our dealerships is to ensure that we facilitate the peace and stability that our country needs to progress and grow.

In a nutshell, in dealerships we have to create harmonious, trusting work relationships and at the same time educate that knowledge, improved productivity and efficiencies will lead to improved well-being of each individual.

In a difficult market, the battle for customers has become more vigorous. Therefore stable, well trained team members who perform a cohesive service to the customer will outperform their competitors.

All the best for the next quarter.

Market Toyota AthloneDiamond Award

Market Toyota Athlone was the proud recipient of the Diamond Award (1st overall) in the annual PMR.africa awards ceremony for the Western Cape region. PMR.africa is a company that provides consulting, research and risk manage-ment services. The awards are the cul-mination of a research process whereby companies and institutions are rated based on respondents’ perceptions with a strong focus on evaluating and measuring customer service and cus-tomer satisfaction.

The awards are always the end result of a research process whereby com-panies, departments, institutions and individuals are nominated and rated by respondents against specific attributes or criteria. It is important to note that a company cannot “enter” the survey, but must always be nominated and rated by the respondents.

The award is recognition of the work being done by the dealership in the motor vehicle industry, serving the needs of the community and for its commitment to customer satisfaction.

Opel Mokka Launch

On Tuesday the 3rd of March, Williams Hunt Cape Town in Bellville celebrated & launched the arrival of the ´New Ger-mans´, namely the Opel Mokka, Corsa 6th generation and ADAM, with various clientele and members of the media, along with some senior management of General Motors South Africa & the Williams Hunt group.

All three new vehicle models were in-troduced and well received by all at the event, but what made theevening more specular was a unique and exclusive guest appearance by none other than South Africa’s no 1 rock band Prime Circle, who blew the crowd away with a great acoustic performance that left people talking for days about the event. Commenting on the event, Williams Hunt Cape Town Dealer Principal, Marvan van Zyl said ‘Prime Circle and Williams Hunt Cape Town have forged a strong relationship over the last two years in that we are a sponsor of the band and are looking to extend this throughout the Williams Hunt Group.

This is the first time in the bands history that they have performed on a dealer-ships showroom & by all accounts it won’t be the last – although it will be exclusive to the Williams Hunt Group dealership outlets.

Their performance at our launch was definitely one to be remembered and ties in perfectly to the re-launching of the Opel brand in that Opel has moved to a new dimension with some of the exciting features that can be found on this new model range.

Achmat JacobsGeneral Manager

Good day to you !

I’d just like to share some of my experi-ences at your branch with you, The first contact I had with the branch this year was at the beginning of November, when I needed a Tail Light Lens for my vehicle.

The response I received from the lady at reception was amazing, and every call after that, was handled with the same cheerfulness.

What a pleasure to speak to her !

The next person I met was Walter Magwayi in the spares dept, then Gino Little and Cecil Munsamy in the Service dept., and all of them made me feel like royalty.

I expected to get a lift home whilst my car was being serviced, but then one of your drivers apparently took ill the pre-vious evening, and I saw that Michael, your driver, had a plate-full and had to go all over the peninsula to drop peo-ple, so I opted to wait for my vehicle.

This is when I got the surprise of my life. A lovely young lady who makes your tea, came to check on me regularly to ask if I wanted more coffee.

She really fussed over me, and this I ap-preciated, but gave up after having two large cups of coffee.

Every staff member (I mean every one of them) who passed thru’ the waiting room, greeted me with smiles on their faces. This is most unusual in most business concerns.

I must really commend you, for the quality of people you employ, and express my gratitude for this amazing experience. Please give them all a pat on the back !!

Kind regards,Peter Van Kervel.

PS. I bought my car from Eric Smith in Jan. 2008, and only now having to spend some money on it, but being a pensioner, I have to save to get these things done, like Timing Chain Tensioner, Water Pump, and Clutch replacement. But I’ll get there.

Good DayWith this email I would like to com-mend the excellent support and service we have received from VW personnel last year during our holiday.

We started our journey on Saturday 13th December 2014 from Pretoria to Hartenbos.

It was already late morning when wehad some car trouble just beforeKroonstad.

When we eventually caught up with the rest of the family, my brother-in-law has already spoken to Nadia Bornman from VW Klerksdorp and VW SA - VW SA ar-ranged for VW Kroonstad to assist us.

We were on our way to VW Kroostad where Abraham Hugo and Laura McGrail were waiting for us(on a Saturday).

Abraham quickly determined that it was the turbo on our Polo that disinte-grated.

Travelling any further with our Polo was out of the question.

Now if we have not received excellent service already, approval was granted for a loan vehicle so that we could continue our journey and holiday for the next two weeks while our Polo was repaired.

VW Kroonstad did not have anappropriate vehicle, because we were towing a trailer.

Nadia Bornman from VW Klerksdorp liaised with Heynn Laubscher (acting dealer manager at the time) whoapproved and arranged for a vehicle to be driven from Klerkdorp to Kroonstad (on a Saturday afternoon).

The two gentlemen giving up their

Saturday for my convenience to deliver the loan vehicle to Kroonstad - Hennie Kruger and Thys Vorster.

To all of these people involved to keep me on the road and still enjoy my holi-day Thanx-A-Million.

Your assistance, compassion and will-ingness to help will forever be remem-bered.

Warm RegardsMaree Mostert

United Motors

Martin CartwrightGeneral Manager

Good day Zahn

I have a trusted Jeep Grand Cherokee that I love to bits and try to keep her in good running order as she is a lovely car to drive and even though she has 186 000 km on the clock, she still runs well.

I would like to thank the United Motors Team for always delivering exceptional service with honesty.

I have been using UM for the past three-four years and I must compliment them on their honesty.

When I took my trusted Jeep to a branch in Sandton, I was quoted +-R46 000.00 for an electrical problem.

I brought it to UM and they fixed the problem for me to the value of +- R1 200.00.

This year, I had my car at Jeep Uhm-langa and was quoted +- R25 000.00 for suspension repairs.

I only replaced the bushes and rubbers that cost me R8000.00 but there was other issues that they said would cost me R17 000.00.

I saved up the money and brought it to UM and expected to pay about R14 000.00.

To my surprise, it cost me R360.00 as it was just loose bolts and nuts, not exactly what I was told.

Your entire team is always helpful and friendly, from the service advisors, the service manager, the driver and even your your lady at payments.

I thank you for restoring my trust in dealerships (well, some of them).

It is always nice to know that there are honest dealerships out there that dont just replace with new when it is notrequired and act in a responsiblemanner.

Well done United Motors Team.

Regards

Fabian
