The main audience is the IT Company Konnekted, as they are currently hiring IT

apprentices. Other employers or companies that I may apply to in the future

may want to see my portfolio and other audiences that may wish to see my

portfolio are universities/colleges whose courses I may apply to in the future.

The purpose of my E-portfolio is to show how I am suited to the job at

Konnekted and other potential employers, to display all of my skills and my

qualifications and to show employers who I am and everything about me

A good E-portfolio should look professional, inviting and creative. It should

have good navigation and all the links must work, there needs to be a good mix

of text, video and animation. The content must be interesting and there should

be a nice colourful, clear layout. The portfolio also needs to be professional

and must work fully.

User Requirements The website should load easily and be quick and easy to navigate.

Navigation will be made easier with navigation buttons which are on

every page and take you from page to page. (consider using menus)

The website should at least contain 8 linked pages.

There should be a consistent use of text, colour schemes and page

styles in all of the web pages. This will make the website professional

and pleasant to look at. I will be using a dark blue background and

white text consistently and I will be using css styles.

The website should be interesting so it must contain different original

and/ or ready-made, embedded multimedia/digital assets, e.g. digital

animation, digital graphics, digital audio and digital video.

The website needs to be hosted on a web server.

The website must be Easy to use for y target audience.

The website must show my skills, accomplishments and work I have

done in Btec Ict.

Each webpage should be internally linked, with easy-to-navigate

menus. You can get from page to page by clicking buttons which are

available on every page.

The website must have a consistent look and feel across pages, e.g.

having consistent navigation methods between pages). I use the

same dark blue background, red banner and white Ariel text on every

page. I will also have the buttons in the same place on every page to

achieve consistency.

The main differences in my design are:

First Design:

Orange Background

Font is Calibri (body)

The buttons are going up the side of the page

The colours used are green, blue, red and orange

Second Design:

Blue Background

Font is century schoolbook

The buttons go across the top of the page

The colours used are red, purple and green

I will be using my second design for a number of

reasons:

The dark blue background goes well with the white

text and is much more pleasant to look at than the

orange and white text I feel the colours are too bright

colours. Good use of colour is one of my user

requirements

I will have a picture of myself on the about me page

to shown potential employers who I am and this will

make my digital portfolio standout to Konnekted

I will be using an animation on the home page which

will make the digital portfolio more exciting and keep

the employers interested.

The portfolio will have buttons across the top which I

feel make the pages easier to navigate. This was one

of my user requirements.

On the digital portfolio page I will have included my

CV to show potential employers so they know what

my skills, strengths, and weaknesses are. This is the

purpose of my e-portfolio

I will use century schoolbook as my font. It is not

extremely different from the other designs font

(Calibri body) but I feel it is more professional and

fun to read also the text is a good size so it is easy to

read. This will make my portfolio accessible to a

number of different users.

On my web design page context pages I intend to

have links to PDF documents I think this will make my

portfolio look more professional

My second design is a good mix of pictures, text and

other assets that could show Konnekted who I am.

This is the purpose of my e-portfolio

The layout of my portfolio, e.g.: banner or navigation

buttons, looks very clean and professional. This does

not overwhelm you with information.

Overall I feel my second design highlights my skills

and shows my potential as an employee better than

my first.

How will it meet the user requirements and

the digital portfolios purpose?

The audience is Konnekted and the purpose of my

portfolio is to show how well suited I am for the job

and to display my skills/ qualifications. I have done

this by in including a link to a pdf document detailing

my GCSEs and by having a video of myself talking

about myself

My portfolio uses the same template and colours to

achieve a consistent professional look which appeals

to my audience.

My portfolio has information on myself such as

qualifications which fulfils the purpose of my

portfolio

I have used colours to achieve a relaxed yet

professional look.

How will the navigation system aid user

interaction?

I have 8 different pages with 8 navigation buttons on

each.

I have selected navigation buttons as I can use the to

go from any of my pages to any of my other pages.

I have chosen easily recognisable titles for my

navigation bar to allow users to know exactly where

each button will take the user. The navigation

buttons will be on every page to allow the user to

travel to any page from any page. This makes my

website viewer friendly and accessible.

How will the assets selected enhance the

portfolio?

I use many images to keep the interest of my

audience while they look at my portfolio.

I use a video to explain briefly who I am, my

qualifications and how I would like to use what I have

learned in Btec ICT in the future.

I have selected to use one template across all my

pages to achieve a consistent look with a degree of

professionalism.

My navigation buttons allow users to easily access all

of my portfolio’s pages.

My navigation buttons run up the side of the page

and are easily visible which looks clean and

uncluttered.

I have used an appropriate font and good text size.
