Symposium Steering Committee

• Susan Buchanan, MD MPH, is on the board of Chicago PSR. She graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed a Family Medicine residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. After nine years of practice she sought additional training and board certification in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She is Assistant Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. She is director the UIC residency program in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Director of the Great Lakes Center for Children’s Environmental Health.

• Brian Dunbar is Executive Director of the Institute for the Built Environment (IBE) and Professor Emeritus at Colorado State University. Professor Dunbar holds two degrees in architecture from the University of Michigan and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Professor Dunbar has taught Interior Design, Construction Management, and Sustainability courses at Colorado State and created the graduate emphasis in sustainable building, professional certification courses in green building, and sustainable design and construction courses offered in Costa Rica and on the island of St. John, USVI.

• We have a full day ahead!– At last count 47 Exhibitors– Three Sets of Workshops– 19 Breakout Sessions– Student lead tour of our building

• USGBC-credits need to be submitted online at the USGBC Website.

• Teachers needed CPDU’s – please fill out an application form at the registration Desk.

• Everyone worked very hard to make this a sustainable event!– Pat your yourself on the back if you carpooled, biked, or

took public transportation!

• Also, please recycle and put compostables in their proper bins.

• If you get a chance, please thank our Sodexo crew for providing all the refreshments for the day!
