Sophie’s extensive involvement in the school community was also evident in the music program where she was an integral member of many ensembles and the leader of the altos in the A Cappella Choir. Sophie is an exceptional young woman who hopes to complete a degree in Arts at Melbourne University. She has been an asset to the school and we wish her every success in her future endeavours. We are immensely proud of the Class of 2014 and their outstanding VCE results. Once again our students have excelled with 15% of the cohort achieving an ATAR of 95 or above. The hard work and dedication of the students towards achieving their best has culminated in remarkable results and they are to be congratulated for their success. We are delighted to announce that Sophie Ward is the Dux of St Margaret’s School for 2014. Sophie achieved an ATAR of 99.45 placing her on the top 0.55% of the nation. Her outstanding study scores include a perfect 50 for VCE History Revolutions. Sophie has been a student at St Margaret’s School for 12 years. Throughout this time she has been able to achieve an admirable balance between her studies and the school’s co-curricular program. She has outstanding leadership skills, as demonstrated in her role as the Social Service Captain. In acknowledgement of Sophie’s significant contribution to the school community she was awarded the 2014 Helen Hudson Service Award. Sophie was also the recipient of the Jennifer Gedye Memorial Award for Excellence in the Humanities and the VCE subject prizes for English, History Revolutions, French and e St Margaret’s School graduates are to be commended on their outstanding VCE success. Congratulations to the Class of 2014

• 17% of the students have acheived an ATAR over 95 placing them in the top 5% of the nation.

• 22% obtained an ATAR over 90 placing them in the top 10% of the nation

• 63% of the year level attained ATAR scores over 80, placing them in the top 20% of the nation.

This year the School Captains challenged their Year 12 class and the St Margaret’s School community to be extraordinary. The young women in the Class of 2014 embraced this challenge and together they have achieved outstanding VCE results. Our students remained focused on their goals and they can now look upon their results with pride and embark on their futures with determination and confidence.

The Class of 2014 have distinguished themselves not only through their academic pursuits but also through their exceptional leadership and service to the school. They have been extensively involved in all areas of the extra-curricular program where they have been enthusiastic participants

and outstanding mentors and role models to the student body. Together they have been invaluable supporters of each other, working together as a unified team to ensure that their year was extraordinary.

Congratulations must also be extended to the teaching staff who have been beside their students throughout their academic journey. At St Margaret’s School the teachers and students work collaboratively in an environment where each student is encouraged to achieve their personal best. Our teachers are also highly skilled in the process of learning and their dedication and expertise has played an integral role in ensuring the success of each individual.

The Class of 2014 have been extraordinary and as a school community we are extremely proud of their outstanding achievements. They are now prepared for the next stage of their learning and life journey and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.
