1.In e→ ie stem-changing verbs, the letter e in the stem changes to ie in all forms except the nosotros and vosotros forms. querer

2. Some other verbs that follow the same pattern are preferir (to prefer) and empezar (to begin).

3. Another e→ie stem-changing verb is venir (to come). It follows the same pattern as tener. Do you remember two other verbs with an irregular –go in the yo form?

Gramática1. Pensar (to think) is another e → ie stem-changing verb.

él/ella/usted piensa ellos/ellas/ustedes piensan

When followed by an infinitive, pensar means to plan, or to intend to do something. ¿Piensas jugar al tenis? Do you plan to play tennis?

2. The verb ir can be used to talk about the future, using the formula ir + a + infinitive.

¿Cuándo vas a practicar el piano? … are you going to practice…

Voy a practicar mañana. I’m going to practice…

GramáticaA reflexive verb is a verb in which the action reflects back on the subject: I bathe myself.

In Spanish, the infinitives of reflexive verbs have se attached to them (afeitarse, ponerse). The se changes according to the subject of the verb:
