• An automatic soft tissue filter is applied to lateral

projections to enhance the visibility of the patient's profile

and a calibrated ruler is superimposed to the image for

proper geometric calibration

• Secondary collimator: during the ceph scan, each

portion of the skull is exposed for just fractions of a
