Why Sargotsav?
To tell you truth, schools are places which should allow children to learn and grow. But teachers, parents and those who those instead of doing it have transformed them into centres where children are taught to learn by rot. Naturally elders often raise the rod and prevent the children from raising doubts and questions that arise in their mind. Children at school face the fate of animals in circuses. They can only obey what is ordered, they are not permitted to think or do naturally or by themselves. Since doubts are not cleared, there are fissures and holes in the foundations of various bits of knowledge they assimilate. It is because these are not remedied at the right time that many children go backward in the classroom and fail in examinations.
Communal organizations, institution and individuals establish and run educational institution declaring at they are interested in service. They too never consider the demands, aspirations or interests of children. They give priority to rearing children as their elder wish. Their interest in the fees and donations collected from the guardians convert education which should be into a commodity.
It becomes necessary for them to propagate the superior qualities of their commodity among the people. The media world consisting of newspaper, periodicals and channels which were established with the objective of spreading knowledge and information became propagates of commodities for sale. Even the columns children’s pages are run on these lines.
A moment’s reflection will convince one that what all these people are doing in to deny childliness. They tie down all the instincts and abilities that spout naturally in children. Many things which they are not able to assimilate and tolerate are thrust on them. The pain and anger which it engenders in them get frustration into transtration and tension. They deprive them of their self confidence and childlines.
What is the solution? The creativity of children should be discerned and encouraged in various ways. Home, school and the places visited by children should be made venues for the same. Parents, teachers, and administration should totally change their conception about children and their approach to them. They should be prepared to recognize identity of children and to allow it to grow. They should create a public space for children to roam around. Only in that manner one can ensure the natural growth of children and their safety from the anxieties and dangers that encircles them.
Emancipates the children from all types of sectarian trends, develop their natural abilities that are befitting the democratic set up and make available various achievements of science to them- This is the objective of Sargostav.

C. Untying the knot
Just like in other schools there are 14 corners from E1 to E14 in this school also. In all the corners there are puzzles. Some are to be handled with fingers, some require much thinking for untying.
Some are related to mathematics, while some others require rational analysis. All the corners in this school help us to discern how to approach problems.
D. Let us play and enjoy
In this school also there are 14 corners from F1 to F14. In each corner there will be different types of games. There will be folk game, organized games and brand new games in these corners.

Children’s houses and colour
The entitrety of children participating in the sargotsav are divided into seven houses. Do you know which these houses are?
1. Violet house
2. Indigo house
3. Blue House
4. Green house
5. Yellow house
6. Orange house
7. Red house
Look at your badge. Its colour is the name of your house. The colour of the badges worn by all the children in the violet house is violet. A flag is to be carried in front of each house. Its colour is the colour of the badge. Always remember that is colour that enables to distinguish any participant.
Badge The guide
Observe your badge closely, what all things it contains?
Now itself you recognize one thing.
The colour of the badge and the name of your house are the same
What other things are on the badge? There is the cluster number below your name. The First letters in it indicate the name of the panchayat in which you are residing. The next digit indicates the number of the cluster in which the house in which you reside is situated (ex. MN2 means the second cluster in Mararikulam North Panchayat). Next comes your number. This number has three parts. (ex.V2-12). The letter is the first letter of the name of the house. V for violet, I for indigo, and so on. In violet house there are 15 groups. Next digit is your group number in the violet houses. The last number is your number. If your number is V2-12, it means that you are the 12th child in the second group in the violet house. Still there are certain things to be noted. Don’t you see a picture in the circle below the number? If your group is 2 the picture will be that of a leaf. Observe the badges of all in your group. It is the picture of leaf in the badges of all of them.
The picture in the badges of all those in a group will be the same.
Next look at the badge of a friend in group V-1. That also is a leaf it is not the same leaf , but a different one. When you get into the bus which takes you to your residence and back, all those in your bus have badges with the picture of leaf. Look at the next bus. In it all the badges have the picture of an animal. Hence the bus you have to get in will have the colour of your house and the picture of your badge stuck on it.
One thing remains. At the lower part of the badge are the dates on which sargotsav is taking place. On the first three days you will be going to only one school. If AB is marked below 25, it means you have to go first to A (science) and then to B (craft). If EF are shown below 25, it means you have to attend E (flying high) in the morning and F (untying the knot) in the afternoon. On 24 and 25 between 11 pm and 3 pm friends can go anywhere they like. At other times the school you have to attend can be known by reading the badge.
Certainly your badge is a guide from corners to corners.

The groups move in the order B after A, C after B and so on. In this after G comes A. One more thing about the movement of groups. In the school A, Ocean of science there are 1 to 14 corners. The group V-1 moves through the corners A1, B1, C1, D1, E1, F1. V-2 moves through A2, B2, C2, D2, etc. then V-14 goes through A14, B14, C14 etc. Now friends know how to move through corners.
To go wherever you like
Anybody in the V-1 group can go to only the corner A1 in the school ‘A’ although there are 14 corners in that school. But there is an optional time when anybody can go anywhere. It is between 11am and 3 pm on 24 th and 25 th. During this time you can go to corners where you could not go earlier. You can also visit the corner where you had been earlier otherwise you can go and visit exhibitions, spin coir rope, make clay vessels, paint against war, discuss with distinguished persons visiting the Sargotsav, perform your cultural programmers and so on. You can even oranise demonstration along with your friends against war or child labour.
When you have to decide where you should go, please keep in mind one thing. If you are in group VI, you will be automatically going to corners A1,B1,C1,D1,E1,F1 and G1. So try to find out corners other than these. There are pavilions erected by your friends from other states- pavilions which declare the diversity, comraderie, and unity of our country and its people. Do spare sometime to view them.
So many venues! So many places to visit! four days will not be sufficient. Discuss with your friends. Let them see the items that you cannot see. Afterwards you can sit together and exchange your experience. Try to go to as many corners as possible.
Response of your friends
We want to know your views on the organization, contents and other assins related to the Sargotsav. It is on their basis that alterations will have to be made by us. So please do not forget to covey your views either in or orally to state organizing office, enquiry counter or nay volunteer in your group.
Inaugural Venue
The venue for inaugural ceremony and get together is the SDV school stadium. On every day we have to meet there at 9.00 am and 5.00 pm. This will be the venue for mass songs and general gatherings giving general instructions.
Inauguration
On the first day (23ed May) you have to familiarize yourself with the schools and corners between 9.00 am and 11.30 am. Formal inauguration will take place during 3.40 pm to 5.00 pm
