1. Complete another of the Mathletics tasks set by your teacher.

2. When you have completed a set task, go onto Mathletics Online. Optional Maths Continue on with the Matharoo worded problems found in your Monday and Tuesday booklet. BRAIN BREAK (5 mins) Take a walk around your house and garden searching for either something that looks gold or something that starts with the letter ‘G’. Each time you find something, say your chant while jumping on the spot.

GRAMMAR / SPELLING (20 mins) Aqua Crossword We have been learning about the prefix ‘aqua’. Aqua is a blue colour with a green tint to it. It can also mean water. Today you will complete the Aqua Crossword Puzzle in your booklet.

Lunch OLYMPIC GAMES STEM ACTIVITY (60 mins) Follow the instructions on the STEM sheet in your booklet to create your own Olympic Mascot. For this task you will need to use recyclable materials that you have found and make a model of your Olympic Mascot.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic mascot is Miraitowa (blue) and Someity (pink) are the mascots for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games. Take a photo of your mascot and upload it to the Seesaw activity.

Thursday 5 August 2021 Morning Session WRITING (50 mins) Complete the ‘Persuasive Writing - Rhetorical Questions 2’ Activity which has been assigned to you on Seesaw. For this activity you will need to:

1. Re-watch the video on Rhetorical Questions - https://youtu.be/teEVKm5boTg

2. Read through the passage and identify the rhetorical questions.

3. Complete the worksheets on slide 2 and 3. Here, you need to turn the statements into rhetorical questions.

4. Come up with 3-5 rhetorical questions for the topic ‘Maths is the best subject in school’.

5. Write a PEEL paragraph for the topic ‘Maths is the best subject in school’. Include at least 1 rhetorical question in your paragraph.

History (40 mins) In History, we continue to explore the question ‘who lived here first and what was their life like?’ 1.On the Seesaw task ‘History – Art that gives answers’, you will listen to an explanation and then study the paintings of Joseph Lycett to learn more about how the first people of Australia lived. 2.Complete the 'I see... I think... I wonder...' statements on Seesaw.

ART (60 mins) Today we will be appreciating an artwork created by Japanese artist Hokusai and creating our own version of his work “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”.

Open the Seesaw activity. Complete the slides then watch Mrs Foreshew’s video on how to create your own wave artwork. https://youtu.be/bfKRSlebQuw Upload a photo of your finished work to the Seesaw activity. Your teacher will give you feedback on this task. Please submit by Friday afternoon.

Friday 6 August 2021 Morning Session WRITING (50 mins) Complete the ‘Persuasive Writing - Word Association Chains 1’ Activity which has been assigned to you on Seesaw. For this activity you will need to:

Lesson In our last Patterns and Algebra lesson, we continue to work with the patterns of odd and even numbers. Complete the Seesaw activity you have been assigned called ‘Patterns Friday’. You will receive feedback from your teacher for this task. In this activity you will

● investigate the addition, subtraction and multiplication of odd and even numbers, and, ● Predict whether an answer will be odd or even.

PD - Road Safety - (30 mins)

Listen to the following song about how to cross the road safely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JXCezYlPNE Your activity today is to create a poster that could be used in a Pre-School to teach little children how to cross the road safely. Use the song you have just listened to and incorporate it into your poster.

Take a picture of your poster and upload it to the Seesaw activity page. Alternatively, if you have younger siblings, teach them the song and record you all singing it. Upload video to Seesaw. Lunch

PE (60 mins) Find the instruction sheet from Mr Elsely in your booklet. Read it carefully and follow the explanation about the skills and safety tips.
