Vibe is a music and entertainment magazine primarily owned by IMP, that targets an audience interested in the urban and R&B genre of music – usually late teens to

young adults. They target the audience by publishing online, and making their magazine available

in a range of shops so a wide variety of people can access it. The magazine satisfies the audience by including various articles on upcoming

NME is the longest published and most respected music weekly in the world. Every week it gives its readers the most exciting and authoritative coverage of the very best in new music, including award-winning features, the latest releases and live

reviews. NME has a very trustworthy reputation and therefore is a magazine that is

constantly in demand. The target audience for NME is both genders and young adults, approximately 18-30 who are interested in a variety of issues as well as music, for example films, and

who are well educated in music.

Intermedia partners distribute the vibe magazine, targeting at late teens, so this therefore would be seen as the ideal institution to distribute my product as the target audience of my product and vibe is similar, by covering a diverse range of topics, for example festivals and

concerts. IMP also distribute a large amount of their magazine content online, which would be effective as my product’s audience is young adults who are more likely to browse the

web.

However, I would suggest to use an institution where my portfolio isn’t similar to one that already exists, such as Bauer – especially as they already distribute a wide variety of

magazines. This would therefore enable my product to be distributed by a worldwide multi-national institution who also have links to television and radio which could enable

my product to develop into multiple platforms.
