When you are taking whole food supplement not only are you getting vitamins, minerals, enzymes and cofactors in the precise propor-tions nature intended you are also getting all of the things that science has not discovered yet. There is no denying that times are tough for everyone. Some people may be considering cutting back on the amount they spend for supplements, thinking that they really aren't seeing any results, so why keep buying them. This may be a good time to find out that all the nutrients needed for complete and perfect health can be found in some very low cost forms that provide perfect synergy between the nutrients, and extremely high bio-availability.

Isolated compounds vs. whole food supplements

Supplements made with isolated nutrients are

probably the least effective way to present the

body with what it needs. A multivitamin with

many isolated ingredients crammed into a cap-

sule is no better. It may be tempting to think

that the supplement that is best is the one that

delivers the highest milligram amount of a nu-

trient. But the reality is that a small amount of a

nutrient in whole food form is many times more

effective than a large dose in isolated form. As

food forms of nutrients are slowly digested and

absorbed, nutrients become available to be

utilized over a period of several hours. Much of

the large dose of an isolated nutrient is wasted

because the body can only use a small amount

at one time.

Here is a short list of whole food supplements

that provide a wealth of nutrition at very rea-

sonable cost: Bee pollen, Spirulina, Chlor-ella, Alfalfa Because these are whole foods

rather than isolated compounds, they can be

consumed depending on the need in different

circumstances.

Bee Pollen

Bee pollen is an energy enhancer and re-

storative tonic. It is used around the world to

improve vitality and endurance, aid recovery

from chronic illness, promote longevity, regu-

late intestinal functioning, boost blood, pre-

vent infection, alleviate menstrual cramps,

promote fertility, vanquish depression and

fatigue, treat migraine headaches, normalize

cholesterol levels, help children overcome

developmental problems, and prevent and

treat cancer.

Bee pollen

has more

protein than

any animal

source per

equal weight,

and contains

more free-

form amino

acids than

beef, eggs or

cheese of

equal weight. The protein is highly digestible

and absorbable, rendering much more nutri-

tive value than equal amounts of animal pro-

tein. It contains an abundance of carotenoids,

including lycopene, zeaxanthin and beta caro-

tene that the body will convert to vitamin A as

needed. It also contains the complete vitamin

B complex including folate, biotin, choline and

inositol. It has vitamin C, vitamin D, the com-

plete vitamin E complex, and vitamin K. It is

rich in trace minerals including iodine, and

macro minerals including selenium. It con-

tains bioflavonoids and natural sugars. Its

fatty acid profile is impressive and includes

caproic, capric, myristic, palmitoleic, oleic,

linoleic, arachidic, and eicosanoic, depending

on the source of the pollen.

Edema is excessive fluid retention . In years gone by, a person might have been said to have dropsy. Today one would be more descriptive and specify the cause. Thus, the person might have edema due to congestive heart failure. Edema manifest itself in swelling of parts of the body, par-ticularly, in the lower legs and feet toward the end of the day as a result of pooling of fluid from the upright position usually maintained during the day. Upon awakening from sleeping, people can have swelling around the eyes re-ferred to as periorbital edema. What You Can Do: This condition should receive prompt attention from a competent physician to the most useful remedies. These methods should induce active perspiration such as the wet-sheet wrap.

A short steam bath, hot water bath, hot light bath, hot and cold foot bath are also beneficial.

Rubbing of the feet and limbs in an upward direction is a means of recondition which should not be neglected because it is a means of helping to eliminate the fluids from the body. This rubbing should be administered 2 or 3 times daily and for a half an hour at a time.

Sauna bathing is beneficial.

Every morning drink ½ glass of warm orange juice and ½ glass of warm water. Take bran with every meal.

Mix ½ pound of Corn Silk, in 3 quarts of water, make tea. Drink 3 cups daily.

Elevate feet while sitting or sleeping.

Drink about 16 oz. water until swelling goes down.

Establish right conditions in the system: Take “NO ENEMA INTESTINAL CLEANSER” 3 times daily.

See Bowel Cleanser - Newsletter #1

Take 2 to 3 retention enemas per day or as needed to cleanse system.

Dietary Considerations

Emphasis on raw vegetables and fruits, particu-larly cucumbers, watermelon, pineapple and all silicon-rich foods such as young green plants, al-falfa, garlic, onion, parsnips, asparagus, apples, strawberries, grapes, beets, coconuts, and teas such as oatstraw and horsetail (shavegrass).

Eat moderate amounts of raw nuts, especially al-monds, seeds (sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseed, and pumpkin seeds). Eat whole grains such as millet, rice and steel-cut oats for cereal and fruit meals.

Eat no animal proteins: no meat, cheese, eggs, fish or milk.

Salt intake should be reduced to ½ tsp daily. Use only natural sea salt in small amounts.

Edema

3A- Wel lness Retreat Volume 1, Issue 8 Page 2.

There are various possible edema causes but generally one

of the first things that come to mind when speaking of

edema would be obesity, pregnancy or certain underlying

medical conditions or certain medical drugs itself. Even if

you are completely sure that you suffer from edema it is

absolutely essential for you to visit a doctor to get an accu-

rate diagnosis as it is necessary for you to understand the

underlying cause to be able to effectively treat or control

the condition. Edema treatment is not horribly complicated

and it does not require any extensive or invasive medical

procedures. The only way to effectively cure edema would

be by treating the underlying health condition.

Spirulina is another one of nature's most perfect foods. These

tiny blue-green algae were designed by nature 3.6 billion years ago and were the generators of the oxygen found in our atmos-phere which allowed all higher life forms to evolve. They are sin-gle celled organisms containing everything needed by life to evolve into the rich diversity seen on earth today. Spirulina is 65% highly digestible vegetable protein. This protein is complete, providing all eight essential amino acids in the proper ratios and in a form that is five times easier to digest than meat or soy protein.

It is an excellent source of potassium, calcium, zinc, magne-sium, manganese, selenium, iron and phosphorus. As is bee pollen, spirulina is an excellent source of the

entire vitamin B complex, and vitamin E. It contains the yellow/orange pigments from which vitamin A is made, along with substantial amounts of other carotenoids including the powerful antioxidants, zeaxanthin, lutein and astaxanthin, protectors of the eyes and skin.

Fibromyalgia syndrome (or fibromyalgia) is a chronic dis-order associated with widespread muscle and soft tissue pain, tenderness, and fatigue. A person with fibromyalgia will experience pain when up to 18 specific areas called tender points are pressed. Pushing carefully on these specific trigger points during an examination causes dis-comfort or sharp pain. The pain of fibromyalgia is more than normal muscle aches common after physical exertion. Fibromyalgia often can be severe enough to disrupt a person’s daily work and activities. Other symptoms that commonly occur with fibromyalgia include: Un-restful sleep, Fatigue stiffness Less common symptoms or conditions that can accom-pany fibromyalgia include: Headache Raynaud’s syn-drome Irritable bowel syndrome (present in about one-half of those with Fibromyalgia). Fibromyalgia can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to many other disorders and dis-eases. There are no lab tests to diagnose fibromyalgia. It is often diagnosed after other conditions have been ruled out. The cause of fibromyalgia is not known. Fibromyalgia has been recognized as a medical disorder only since the 1980s, although there is evidence it may have existed for centuries. What You Can Do:

Chlorella is a single-celled fresh water-grown

green algae that helps build the immune system and detoxify heavy metals and other poisons in the body. It improves the digestive and elimination system, normalizes blood sugar and blood pres-sure levels, increases and clarifies focus and at-tention, improves energy level, balances body pH, and cleanses the breath.

It contains the complete vitamin B complex with more B-12 than liver, vitamin C, vitamin E, a broad spectrum of enzymes including pepsin for digestion, beta-carotene, iron, zinc, macro minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, rare trace minerals, essential fatty acids including gamma linolenic acid (GLA), and polysaccharides.

A lack of hydrochloric acid in the stomach contributes to indi-gestion, resulting in putrefied waste that produces quantities of alkaline toxins in the bowel. These toxins break down

blood vessels, causing bleed-ing piles. A lack of greens and vegetables in the diet contrib-utes to the breakdown of blood vessels. Poor circula-tion and lack of exercise also causes this problem. Continue the program until de-sired results are achieved. It is important to incorporate these principles into your lifestyle

What You Can Do:

Correct wrong habits. Stop eating between meals; eliminate drinking during meals; balance your meals, do not eat (or drink) vegetables and fruit at the same meal.

Adopt God’s bible-based diet for maximum health (vegetables, fruits, grains and nuts). Do not eat any flesh foods or refined foods. Your diet should be 100 % vege-tarian and at least 80% raw.

Re-establish right conditions in the system. For clean-sing: Give enema 3 times weekly. Take “NO ENEMA INTESTINAL CLEANSER” 3 times daily
