Secondary School Applications—Year 6
Parents
Please see message below from Devon County Coun-
cil admissions team:-
Parents need to apply for their child’s secondary
school place by the 31st October. The easiest way for
these families to apply is online by visiting www.devon.gov.uk/admissionsonline . We appreciate
that some families may not have made up their mind
yet and not all Secondary schools have had their open
evenings yet. If families don’t wish to or can’t apply
online, they can contact our customer service centre
on 0345 155 1019 to request a hard copy of the form.
We are entering into a period now where a lot of sec-ondary schools in Devon will be experiencing growth,
so it is essential that we get as many applicants ap-
plying on-time. Late applications may be disadvan-taged and miss out on a place at their local or pre-
ferred schools. It is therefore essential they make an
on time application to give themselves the best chance of securing a place at one of their preferred
schools.
School Jumpers
There are a large amount of unnamed Jumpers in lost property at
the moment. Please could you ensure your child's clothes are
named and if you are missing a jumper it may be in lost property.

Self Defence Display
For those parents who have children taking part in the Self Defence classes on Thursdays, next Thursday will
be their last session and they will be showcasing all they
have learned.
Please can you ask your child to change in their class-
room and not the hall on this day.
Aldi GB Sticker Tokens
We are still collecting these stickers to take part in the Get Set to
Eat Fresh promotion for exclusive sports kits for the children.
Harvest Celebration
We are looking forward to our Harvest Celebration on 16th Octo-
ber at 10am in St Andrew's Church. We will be asking for dona-

are very welcome to attend.

Parent/Carers you have until the 31st October to make a timely application

make your application before the 31st October deadline you can apply online
today by visiting www.devon.gov.uk/admissionsonline

Avon Class and the Proclamation of the Fair
Avon class visited the Tiverton Pannier market today to attend the Proclamation of the Fair.
This annual historic event dates back to the 1300s and marks the beginning of the fair and states the rules and regulations stall hold-
ers need to abide by.
The proclamation is made by the beadle before the Mayor and councillors throw pennies to children from the town that scramble to
pick up as many as possible.
The children enjoyed seeing the Mayor and taking part.
