Community and Economic Development, Permit Technician 2013-2014 Town of Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Lakes CA

• Intake and issuance of all “over the counter” permits that needed minor code comments and guidance. • Assisted with minor plan checks by completing a basic overview during submittal and asking for

changes to be made before the submission would be accepted which allowed for less time during the formal plan check due to more comprehensive submittals.

• Coordinated and administered the permit process and inspections from submittal to final. This included the interpretation of departments needed to be involved, checking that all necessary certificates were in place before permit issuance, balancing out all fees due, checking for necessary trigger points during the inspection process, and issuing the final letter or certificate of occupancy.

• Worked with the Town Manager to restructure the fee schedule for development in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Consulted with outside firms to make new policy decisions on the amounts and percentages to submit to Town Council for consideration.

• Side by side collaboration with the fire department to ensure that both building and fire requirements were met with each new project.

• Acted as the liaison between the Town and the contractor’s board to facilitate healthy working relationships and policies that tailor to each perspective.

• Organized and catalyzed the Town’s EPA and code compliance efforts to gain better results in our air quality requirements.

• Worked with the Board of Realtor’s to promote a team environment and encouraged their participation and support in our air quality codes during escrow closures.
