World AIDS Day - Dec 01, 2017

ICFAI Education School, The ICFAI University, Dehradun, organized group

discussion on “WORLD AIDS DAY”. GD started with the theme 2017

“RIGHT TO HEALTH”. The theme depicts the attention to the need for universal

health coverage. It’s very important for everybody to be healthy as health is the

only wealth. Like other fundamental rights, right to health is an important aspect

for all human beings. According to WHO, there are 36 million people around the

world who are living with AIDS.

Students discussed how HIV –AIDS was originated in one of the African countries

in Nineteenth century, sign and symptoms, transmission, preventive measures,

stigma in society and discrimination against people with HIV/AIDS .

Students believe that the HIV-AIDS stigma in society could be minimized by

bringing awareness among masses. Participants of GD are Shubham, Mainksha,

Nityanand, Monika, Reena, Ekta and Cecily.

GD was organized by Prof. Sarita Negi and assisted by Ms. Atulya Verma.
