Year 6 Graduation
Our Year 6 students were honoured at the graduation ceremony held in the covered area
and attended by many families and friends. Proceedings began with a very respectful
“Welcome to Country” by Mrs Susan Griffiths.
Mr Hadlow spoke to the students about their time here and East Manjimup, with a few
cheeky quips about some of the funny things which happened with this group of students
which are very special for him, as they began Kindy the year here arrived here. He also
gave them some very good advice about building good friendships and carrying the
values they have learned into high school and the rest of their lives.
Our guest speaker was ex-student Bianca Mills, who has just graduated from MSHS,
winning the Rotary Citizenship Award. Biance gave the graduates some good insights
into how to gain the most benefit from their high school years, encouraging them to:
make new friends while keeping their existing ones
getting to know the teachers and asking lots of questions
get involved and take up opportunities for leadership
find courses to suit them, there’s something for everyone at MSHS
try different things and follow their interests
seek out staff members to help if they have problems, as there are a lot of people
who can help.
The Head Students spoke with great poise about their time here at East Manjimup, and
wished all the graduates well for their time at high school.
Finally, Mr Clarke, Mrs McCredden and Mrs Bamess presented the graduates with their
certificates and plenty of good wishes for their future.
Our graduates excitedly made their way out of the area to the rocking tune of Shake It
Off, with a few dance moves to celebrate the end of their primary schooling.
Parents and friends enjoyed chatting and Bianca reminisced aboutbeing back in her old
school and sharing her plans to study events management at university.
Best of luck to you all for a happy life.
