Scam Alert!
Some have received fake emails that appear to be from Fr. Harry. The emails seem authenc: they appear
from his diocese email address and ask for ‘a favor.’ Once you reply, it seems he is asking you to do an errand
to buy a gi" card, and then email the code on the back of the card. This is a scam! Fr. Harry nor Fr. Zach will
never ask you to do this. Please be alert and if you receive one of these emails, don’t be fooled, it is a scam.

A letter from Fr. Zach to all high schoolers and their parents
With Fall upon us, it’s that time of year when many things start up again school, Fall sports,
marching band, new seasons of our favorite tv shows, etc. One program that is beginning a new
year is our grouping’s high school youth group! With that in mind, I’d like to share some info
about youth group in the form of a Q & A.
What is youth group? An opportunity for teenagers in grades 8 12 to come together in a relaxed
atmosphere and deepen their faith.
Is it the same as CCD? Not at all. CCD is classroombased and heavily focused on education. In
youth group, there are no classrooms, textbooks, or homework. While learning is part of the pic-
ture, youth group also includes social time, prayer, recreational outings, and service projects.
Life is so busy! Why should we make the time to go to youth group? It’s more than worth it!
Youth group is where faith intersects with real life. Teens will learn things about life, about God,
about faith, and about making good decisions. What they get from youth group will benefit them
for the rest of their lives! Plus, it’s a great place to make friends! When I was I high school, there
are people I met at youth group who I am still friends with to this day! Besides that, youth group
does not take up a lot of time. We usually only meet about twice a month.
What if we can’t be there all the time? No worries! Just come whenever you can!
What if we’re on the fence about youth group? Then come to a few events to see if it’s for you.
You can’t really know what it’s like until you experience it for yourself. Just give it a try! You
have nothing to lose, but everything to gain!
When is the first event? We’re kicking off the new year with a cookout on Sunday, Sept. 15,
from 6pm8pm at the Lions Club Shelter in North Fayette Park, near the sand volleyball court.
There’ll be picnic food, volleyball and other games, and unveiling of the Fall calendar. There is no
cost. If the weather is bad, we’ll be at St. Columbkille. Please bring a permission slip from the
parish website!
