Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu
My beloved sisters, brothers, and families of Islam may the All-Mighty Allah, the Exalted One grant us
and you mercy and give us and you the gift and benefit of beneficial knowledge Aameen.
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in THM Sadaqa Group your Standard Salafi Curriculum Guide (SSCG) to
online homeschool assistance and tutoring. Since 2004, we have been supporting homeschooling
families and students, both through our creative curriculum usage and our online interactive distance
learning homeschool.
While reading through this curriculum overview, you can begin to imagine what a typical
homeschooling week might be like with THM Sadaqa Group online. We hope these materials give you a
clear sense of the style, content, and scope of our curriculum, and help you decide if THM Sadaqa
Group is right for you and your family inshaAllah.
At THM Sadaqa Group online, we offer a unique curriculum that is substantively different from other
educational role models. The student’s arousing interest of thought are encouraged with a sequence of
skills and carefully chosen authentic and beneficial text and materials which reflects the child’s
developmental stages and an unfolding sense of self according to the teachings of Quran wa Sunnah.
We seek to foster a healthy balance between the realms of intellectual development, emotional
engagement, and solid academic and Islamic accomplishments.
Our goal is to help children become more intelligent, capable human beings who are able to respond
sensitively and deeply to the world with sabr and understanding. We focus on teaching the deen of
Allah, so that the student will be able to find meaning and relevance in their contributions to society
and to this Ummah inshaAllah.
The lessons dedicated in the early grades are crafted with a sense of attractiveness and respect as the
child’s own sense of wonder leads to the principles and foundations of Islam (the natural fitrah) using
additional essential literary and biographical accounts from past and present scholars.
As the student grows, our one on one and personal engaging approach develops strong Islamic
principles, academic abilities, practical problem-solving skills and an ability to consider an issue or
problem from many perspectives. Teaching the child to think and act based upon proof and evidence.
Each year’s curriculum is structured in 36-40 weekly lessons, and the sample lessons in this overview
are representative examples of a full year’s curriculum across all subject areas. Within the THM Sadaqa
Group’s online curriculum, you, as the first Home Teacher, will be in a position to help your child make
personal connections to the curriculum. Finding relevance between the material and daily living is
paramount to understanding that Islam is our way of life. The THM Sadaqa Group online curriculum is
designed to be used in the home environment or online with an instructor and encourages meaningful
connections and relationships with the whole family, the homeschool environment, and the Ummah.

Your Standard Salafi Curriculum Guide
Guidance upon Quran wa Sunnah is done by providing the principals that lead people towards good and
encouraging them to perform good deeds and to abandon evil deeds. This is done through:
Truly Allah ta`ala says,
“And indeed you (O Muhammad ) guide to a straight path.”
Surah Ash-Shura: 52
Directing Instructing Clarifying
K3 Courses for Academic & Islamic Studies
2011-2012
THM Sadaqa Group/K3 Curriculum
As you proceed through this curriculum
guide, you will see mention of a SSCG
workbook or textbook. The SSCG
workbook or textbook is simply a PDF file
used to provide direction and instruction
to you and the student to help clarify the
intended lesson and what should be achieved from that lesson inshaAllah. You can start with one SSCG
workbook or textbook for each of the three semesters of the year, but your child may need more and
Allah knows best. You will find our packets of educational fillers extremely helpful at this point in time
inshaAllah.
The SSCG workbook or textbook offers suggestions and ideas for how you are to collect your child’s
work in one place. In the suggested folders, your child will store all written and drawn work from their
lessons in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science from Academics.
An additional set of folders will be required for Aqeedah, Tawheed, Fiqh, Seerah, Arabic, and Quran for
General Islamic Studies and History. You can create a collage for photos of larger projects, individual
papers, and anything else you would like to include in the suggested activity folders. By the end of each
semester, the folders will be filled with written and artistic expressions of daily events in your child’s life.
As your child’s writing skills develop, a specific folder for a student portfolio will contain letters,
drawings, short sentences, math practice, stories, poems, and more inshaAllah. What a great
opportunity to watch them grow! A real example of your child’s expressions and growth
walhamdulillah!
“O you, who believe, save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones...”

This sample lesson is to be used with children ages 5 to 7 years old. Students are to listen to the
pronunciation of each word. Identify the long “a” sound in each word. Explain that the long ā sounds
are usually spelled {ai or ay, and sometimes with ei}.

Exercise Three:
Draw a picture of the word or you can also find a picture for your word using the internet. (No souls)
Example: This is a mailbox.
Exercise Four: What is the meaning?
We want to know the general meaning of words. Look at the picture. Can you tell what it is? If you said
mailbox, then you are correct alhamdulillah.
General meaning for mail: To write a letter and put it in an envelope to send to someone.
Activity: Writing a letter
Have each student write a letter to a companion. Put the letter in an envelope. Put the students name
and address on the envelope along with the person who they are sending it to. Place a stamp on the
envelope. Have the student put the envelope in the mailbox.
Spelling Test:
Choose five words from the list. Say the word. Use it in a sentence. Repeat the word. Have the student
write the word. Have the student write down the correct spelling for any misspelled words.
*Notes for the teacher:
You can also apply these concepts to other long vowel patterns for the letters ei. make sure you explain
that although the words neighbor and weigh have the letters ei which might make them want to say “e”
the sound is long “a”. Example chalkboard words to use are freight, weight, and eight.
Here is a list of words to help teach this concept inshaAllah:
