    restructured.

    Public: New oil industry regulatory legislation is

    in the process of being approved.

    Private: BP has to pay all legitimate claims for

    damages resulting from the incident.

    due to the widespread psychological distresscreated after Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill

    We can distinct a couple of phases of the oil spill:

    1) Actual accidentwhen the oil rig

    occurred

    In this case only the states that were affected but not the

    whole country had legal jurisdiction.

    Direction of the expansion of the oil spill over the

    legislative borders could not be predicted and limited.

    BEEN DONE?

    In extreme cases such as BP oil spill it should have beenthe matter of national government with preventive and

    direct legislation acts of the Congress.

    After BP oil spill the way toward restoration is still long and difficult. Huge losses interms of profits and jobs have damaged local communities.

    After a year and a half from the environmmental disaster, the overall economic situationis still facing difficluties in restarting.
