Rustenburg – Care Bear Rustenburg is hosting a ‘High-Tea for Ladies’ event in order to raise funds for their ‘Kids on the Block’ school outreach programme. This exclusive and highly anticipated fundraiser will take place on 22 Sep-tember 2016 at the Casa Bella Guest-house, R24. “We are very honoured to announce that well-known motivational speaker Gretha Wiid, and well-known psychologist and President of the Rotary Club in Rustenburg, Dr Amanda Agath-agelou, will be guest speakers for this event,” Gys van Zyl, Manager and Co-Founder of Care Bear Clinic for Abused Children, said.Anchen, a young and very talented singer will colour the event with beauti-ful music. The Care Bear Clinic (CBC) is a soci-ety in which ‘there is hope and healing’. “When children are abused, we want to provide efficient and multi-disciplinary professional services to effectively pro-mote their healing and stop any further abuse,” Van Zyl said. The Care Bear Clinic for Abused Chil-dren is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, NPO 149-141, and aim to bring hope to the community of Rustenburg through various projects.The nature and scope of the services rendered by the CBC revolves around:• Forensic, socio-emotional and psy-

chological assessment services;• Victim support services;• Court support and preparation ser-

vices; and• “Kids on the block” school outreach,

community training and education.The ‘kids on the block’ school outreach prevention programme aims to provide a holistic approach to the prevention of

sexual abuse. The programme, present-ed very sensitive, teaches children about private body parts and that NO one is al-lowed to touch it. “When this programme is presented to children, it is of the ut-most importance that it flows from sound knowledge of sexual abuse – and the dy-namics of abuse and grooming – thereby refraining from burdening children with guilt by teaching them to say NO and run away,” Van Zyl stated. This program will inform educators and children of issues surrounding child abuse, child sexual abuse and safety of children. Schools will be visited and age-appropriate talks and plays will be pro-vided to them.

Rustenburg – Child Welfare SA se Rustenburg-tak het op 27 Julie 2016 die unieke voorreg gehad om ‘n kunsterapie sessie aan te bied vir ‘n paar dogters te Hoërskool Rustenburg. Die doel van die sessie was dat elke dogter haar ‘eie ek’ ontdek deur middel van ‘n kunsreis. “Die sessie was ‘n reuse sukses,” beaam Louise van Zyl, Senior Maatskaplike Werker van Child Welfare SA se Rustenburg tak. “Die dogters is nou meer bewus van wie hulle is en wat hul huidige uitdagings is.” Daarnaas is ‘n inligting sessie met 49 onderwysers by die Hoërskool gehou rakende die ontdekkingsreis van die ‘eie ek’ deur middel van kuns.

Rustenburg – As deel van Child Welfare SA: Rustenburg se Vrouedag Vieringe, het hulle die personeel by La Femme Hospitaal bedank vir al hul toewyding en harde werk. Nie net is hulle vrouens wat die ekonomiese wêreld betree het om ‘n inkomste te verdien nie, maar dra hulle daagliks by tot vrouens se welstand en gesondheid.
