INVITATION

The game of ice hockey once was pure... on the frozen ponds. Far away from NHL mil-lionaires locking out players. Without overpri-ced beer at concession stands and without the steady drone of techno music.

We are taking hockey back! Back to the pond were it all began.

True, we are limited. We don't have the sa-me sub-zero temperatures as our Canadian stickbro's. So, we decided to bring the game indoors but the food outdoors.

THE STORY

That's why from Friday* evening 22nd April to Sunday 24th April, 2016, we invite you and your best mates to participate in the 4th Indoor Pond Hockey Classic at the city ice rink ‘Ruggeveld’ in Antwerp (Deur-ne), Belgium.

Register your team to enjoy a weekend of hockey fun and great buddy times to end the ice hockey season!

*PS: If your team comes from outside Belgium, you have the option to start the tournament on Saturday 23rd April at 9h00 in stead of Friday night from 20h00 onwards. Ho-wever, if you opt for this procedure, please note that your games schedule might be unevenly spread during Satur-day and Sunday. This option will also work on a first-come-first served basis. Payment receipt serves as date of entry.

Once again, we are going to turn the Ruggeveld city ice rink into 2 ‘indoor’ hockey ponds! Games will be played on two boarded hockey surfaces (end boards to blue line – playing cross-ice) and a neutral terrace deck in the neutral zone for the fans! THE POND

Teams (6 or 7 players +1 goalie) will be divi-ded into several pools, playing round robin games of 15 minutes (13’ play + 2’ changing teams) running time.

Top seeded teams will play for the tourna-ment title in a final round, all other teams will play for a final ranking.

A maximum of 36 (!) teams can register ... and have done so in previous editions!

Minimum number of teams is 15.

THE AWARD

Some rules were meant to be broken... but NOT these. Res-pect 'em and play the game how it should be played. You'll be rewarded knowing you're a good sport.

1. Teams consist of maximum 7 players & 1 goalie and mini-mum 4 players & 1 goalie -

2. Each game goes 15 minu-tes without stoppage – that

will be enough ...

3. 4-on-4 format: 3 players & 1 goalie on the pond – only

BBQ Meat! The genuine pond hockey grub!

Of course you will be hungry after an intense hockey scrim-mage on the pond. So we ar-ranged sandwiches for every lunch and yummy BBQ meat with a fresh salad bar buffet on Saturday night … And when you get the munchies, there will be some hot soup and chicken wings … You'll love it!

For the hungriest hockey heroes, there is lots of extra chicken wings for a little cash.

**The Organizing Committee may modify the format of the event depending on registrations. The OC cannot be held responsible for any technical failures of the ice rink. In case of cancellation of the event, only the entry fee will be reim-bursed. Due to the amount of players, you will share dressing rooms with other teams.
