KatopanishadAbout Death…

The whole world runs away from death, because death snatches everything, but the one who accepts it and willingly faces it, receives something from death itself. Ironically, knowledge of death gives you the gift of life. The Upanishads contain the profound truth about life but in terse verses. A mere reading does not reveal the entire depth of the knowledge that they carry. Ishavasya Upanishad is the shortest of all major Upanishads but considered a key scripture. Using common examples from everyday life, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar unlocks the treasure of Upanishad-ic wisdom in these discourses, capturing the inexpressible in simple expressions.

Hari OmThe Universal Mantra…

Our whole being functions because of the subtle life force called prana. Prana flows in our system through subtle energy channels (nadis) and energy centres (chakras). There are thousands of nadis and many chakras in us. Tremendous amount of energy lies in each human being. This latent energy stored at the base of the spine is known as Kundalini. The amount of energy that flows up-ward from this energy centre depends on the condition of other chakras and nadis. Hari Om meditation helps us in activating these chakras.

Om MeditationThe Sound of Creation…

Om is the sound that goes all the way up from the base of the spine to the crown chakra. All the way up. OM means Peace. OM means Love. OM means Purity, Clarity & Serenity. Om is the Seed of all Creation.

Yog NidraAs Restorative As Sleep…

As Sadhaks, practicing Yoga is a part of our lifestyle but we hardly do anything to consolidate the increased energy levels in our body after yoga practice. It’s beneficial to end your yoga sequence with yoga nidra (yogic sleep), where we consciously take our attention to different parts of the body and relax them. Doing Yog Nidra, cools down the body and normalizes its temperature, it activates the nervous system to absorb the effects of Yoga asanas. This effortless relaxation is an essential end to any Yoga pose sequence as it prepares the body for Pranayama & Meditation.

This is a beautiful meditation that helps us understand our selves better and go deep within. Through this meditation, Gurudev guides you on an inward journey towards self realization by gently taking your attention to these five sheaths.

AuraExpanding Conciousness

This is what Gurudev says before he starts off the Aura Meditation: Every emo-tion is associated with a sensation, the sensation on the physical level, on the bodily level. You might have noticed when you are feeling happy; there is some-thing in you that is expanding. There is a feeling of expansion. You might have noticed the feeling of expansion is associated with Happi-ness. All those moments when you are happy, there’s some-thing in you that was expanding. You felt as though something is expanding, right? And when you are upset or angry or sad, there is an experience of contraction, something in you is shrinking. What is this something that is expanding and that is contracting? That is Consciousness. When you are tensed, the consciousness, the mind, energy is contracting, and when you are relaxed, the same expands, right?
