My Dear Friends,
Tomorrow is Christmas Day. It is the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is the day when we
commemorate the newborn baby laying in the arms of His most Beautiful Mother, with St. Joseph standing nearby in
adoration. It is the day when the Good Shepherd is born with the shepherds surrounding Him, pointing the way to His
role as the one who leads us into green pastures, providing a banquet for us. It is the day when we gather with family and
friends, seeking faith and fellowship. It is a time for reconciling with those who are estranged and renewing friendships
that have fallen away. It is a time to gather around the altar of our Lord to receive His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
It is a time for us to thank God for the gift of His creation, and the gift that always keeps on giving, Jesus Christ, His
Son. For nine months, from the moment of the Annunciation and the Angel Gabriel, our most Beautiful Mother carried
her Son in her womb, preparing for the day when she would give birth to the Messiah. The birth of Jesus scattered the
darkness of this world and brought forth the light of God’s revelation. Jesus came as a man so that men (and women)
may become like God. This ancient saying from the early Church Fathers is a reminder to us that we are called to be
like God. We are created in His image and likeness. We are given the gift of His sanctifying grace. We are His body,
and He is our head. The Church on earth is the place where we come into contact with that sanctifying grace whereby
we become His body on earth as we prepare for the moment when we are called to heaven. Many people come to
Mass on Christmas as a way to honor God. One way we can honor God and honor our parents, whether they are living
or deceased, is by attending Mass every week for the 2018 year. There can be no greater gift for your loved ones,
whether parents or children, than to receive our Lord in the Holy Eucharist for 52 Sundays and four or five Holy Days
of Obligation. It does not mean that 2018 would be free from pain and sorrow, but it does mean that our Lord will help
you get through your burdens and crosses that will come your way.
On behalf of Father Carlos and myself, may God continue to bless you and Merry Christmas.
Fr. John

Quoting Saint John Paul the Great, “If in his Providence God had given the earth to humanity, that meant that he had given it to everyone. Therefore the riches of Creation were to be considered as a common good of the whole of humanity. Those who possessed these goods as personal property were really only stewards, ministers charged with working in the name of God, who remains the sole owner in the full sense, since it is God's will that created goods should serve everyone in a just way.”

We will be collecting Diapers for Two Hearts on January 22nd in connection with our Witness to Life. The Two Hearts Pregnancy Care Center offers free assistance and support to young women, men and couples who are pregnant, as well as new parents.
As a Catholic organization our mission is to assist those in need and foster a respect for life, born and unborn,
as a reflection of Christ’s love for everyone. We are not here to preach to our clients, but to meet and aid them
wherever they are in their lives. Once your baby is born, Two Hearts continues to support you and
your baby. We offer parenting classes, baby clothes, and other goods and resources to help ensure that both
you and baby get off to a safe, happy, healthy start.
Two Hearts is the pro-life message
of the Catholic Church in action.
We are here to help.
