Teach For All is a global network of 40 independent, locally led and funded partner organizations with a shared vision for expanded educational opportunity in their countries. Each organization recruits and develops diverse individuals from a range of academic disciplines to commit two years to teach in high need classrooms and to work throughout their lives, both within and outside of education, in pursuit of expanded opportunity for children.

A GLOBAL PROBLEM

Around the world, where children are born largely determines the kind of education they’ll receive and, ultimately, their options in life.

The consequences of educational inequity affect individuals, communities, and our larger society.

• Educational inequity contributes to higher unemployment and weaker economies. The cost of Pakistan’s education crisis is equivalent to that of a devastating flood every year.

• Educational inequity sustains crime and violence. In the United States, a male high school dropout is 47 times more likely to be incarcerated than a college graduate.

• Educational inequity fuels prejudice. Increasing a nation’s primary school enrollment from 77% to 100% could reduce its potential for civil war by half.

• Educational inequity perpetuates poverty. If all students in low income countries left school with basic reading skills, 171 million people would be lifted out of poverty.

OUR APPROACH

A world of expanding educational opportunity and decreasing disparities is a more prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable world where more children have the opportunity to fulfill their true potential.

At Teach For All, we believe that leadership is the key to transforming education and—ultimately— children’s futures. Across the network, teachers and alumni are working together with their communities and colleagues and becoming leaders for change in classrooms, schools, neighborhoods, education systems, and countries.

THE SOLUTIONS ARE SHAREABLE

Because there is so much to learn across borders, we take a global approach—developing leaders who are learning from and contributing to each other’s success.

While each context is unique, similarities in the nature of educational inequity from place to place lead to shareable solutions. As partner organizations and their teachers and alumni learn from each other and innovate, our impact is accelerated at the national and global levels.

To accelerate our partners’ progress and increase their impact, Teach For All:

• provides direct support

• facilitates connections between partners

• accesses global resources for the benefit of the whole

• fosters the leadership development of staff, participants, and alumni

Together, Teach For All programs around the world are working to ensure that one day, all children—everywhere—can attain an excellent education.
