A Triple I conversation between Andrea Illy and Francine Lacqua

Andrea ILLY is Chairman of illycaffè and of Fondazione Altagamma.

Under Andrea’s stewardship, illycaffè has become a brand recognized around the globe for its coffee, its ethical values and the close relationships it has forged with growers, merchants and the contemporary art world.

He was appointed as Chairman of Altagamma in 2013 and his mandate was renewed in 2016.

Andrea holds a degree in chemistry from the University of Trieste and an executive master’s degree from the Bocconi University School of Management in Milan. He is the author of the book Espresso Coffee: the Chemistry of Quality and Coffee: the dream.

Andrea is an active participant in international coffee symposiums and for a, sharing his knowledge on scientific and technological aspects of coffee, from agronomy to product processing.

Francine LACQUA is an award-winning London-based anchor and editor-at-large for Bloomberg Television.

At Bloomberg, she has interviewed numerous high-profile public figures, including David Cameron, Christine Lagarde, Mario Monti and ECB President Mario Draghi, among others.

In May 2016, Francine moderated a successful event with Pier Carlo Padoan, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance, at the Bloomberg auditorium in London.

She co-hosts "The Pulse with Guy Johnson and Francine Lacqua," covering top international business, economic and market-moving stories from Bloomberg Television's London studio.

She also hosts "Eye to Eye," a special series where she talks to top CEOs, entrepreneurs and public figures as they ride the London Eye, one of the world’s most iconic ferris wheels.
