UPDATE 2 2UPDATE 2.2

Welcome to Update 2.2 of the Oak Grove Prosperity Challenge NeighborhoodProsperity Challenge Neighborhood.

Oak Grove began with four founding f ili Th C lli ’ St t’families.  The Collins’s, Stewart’s, 

Monahans, and Tierney’s.  Update 2.1 covered the Collins family and their 

progeny.  Update 2.2 will cover the other three families.

Shall we begin?   ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐>

Like the Collins family, the Stewart Family also suffered a loss last rotation when Grandmother Molly had a date with the Grim Reaper.  

Pina and Roland continued on with life in a very comfortable state, continuing to pursue their careers and raise their children Well as muchcontinuing to pursue their careers and raise their children.  Well, as much as two sims who completely ignore their children actually raise their children.  

The older set of twins, Micah and Marielle, moved toward the end of th i hi h h l d th t i T d T t fi lltheir high school years, and the younger twins, Tanner and Trent, finally became teenagers. 

Tanner and Trent were basically left to their own devices, as usual.  Finally becoming teens meant they were a little more able to take care of their own needs rather than rely on their parents to do so.

Tanner is the blonde, Trent is the redhead.

Both got jobs in addition to maintaining good grades at school.  Trent in the military field,

d h l l l ff d f l fand Tanner in the local law offices.  It was good preparation for life outside the home they grew up in.  For Tanner anyway.  Trent, as the youngest by mere seconds, will be the “heir” and inherit the house from his parents.

This is a prospect he is not at all uncomfortable with.  In the meantime, free‐time is spent gaining skill points for promotions at work.

l kTanner is also working on promotions.

For some, the search for a potential spouse is an easy task.  For others, not so much.  Trent used Melody to break the ice in the romance department and as aspiration fodder for a promotion at work.

However, his real search for a spouse began on several outings at the community lots in Oak Grove.  He met Debbie Steele at the bowling alley.  She is a good candidate.

The second candidate is Camryn Lee, who he also met at the bowling alley.

Life wasn’t all obligations to heirdom as it is in many a legacy story.  Trent had time to get a little of life’s pleasures in.

Roland and Pina are very happy with each other, and probably even more so since there are no small children in the house to monopolize their time away from one another.

They are the most stalkery one‐bolt couple I’ve ever seen.  I’m not sure why either.  They’ve always been this way though.  She’s a romance secondary, so that might push their behavior over the edge.

I think Roland misses Micah though.  He often sleeps in his old room.

Pina has maxed her games enthusiasm in her spare time.  If she’s not with Roland, or at work, she’s working on something hobby related.

Molly makes an appearance every once in awhile too.  She’s still nutty as ever.  She likes to wear her sunglasses at night.

Trent tried another tack when looking for a potential spouse.  He travelled to the hobby lots when he got the cards.  He didn’t have much luck there, only running into his brother and his father.

Finally, it was time for the twins to transition to adults.  (I’m not sending them to college.  In fact, no one in the neighborhood is going.  I’m not overly fond of the University EP so made a neighborhood wide decision.  It may change in the future, but for now, its no college for anyone.)

The whole family was there.  See Marielle, the trollop?

Both boys are pretty good looking.  Trent’s features are a little softer.  I think he takes after his mother, especially around the eyes and cheeks.  He transitioned into a pretty decent outfit that suits him, so he got to keep it.

Tanner got the more angular facial details of his father.  He also got a new outfit.

Apparently he also had his girl picked out for quite some time.  One autonomous romantic interaction and hearts were flying.  There were some issues with  Katerina here, but we’ll get to that later.

Debbie was a walk by, which in my experience indicates a high level of pixelated interest, so Trent greeted her.

You can see Micah in the background.  Though I believe this was the night of the birthday he often comes by and lets himself innight of the birthday, he often comes by and lets himself in.

Shortly thereafter, Tanner told his mother of his plans to move out.  Pinagave him her blessing and wished him well.  No surprise there.

He made his way to the computer upstairs and found the plot where he would begin the next neighborhood rotation.

It was a little more difficult for Trent and Roland to say good‐bye.  For Trent, it would be the first time he and Tanner had spent any time apart.  For Roland, I’m not sure.  Family sim tendencies?  Feeling sentimental?

This small, two storey, 8 x 8 cottage belongs to Micah Stewart. As little trouble as the younger Stewart twins had finding spouses, the older twins were the complete opposite.  

Micah spent many an evening downtown, looking for love.  Apparently in all the wrong places.  Everywhere he went it was like this.  Don’t get me wrong, if he had been attracted to guys, he would have hit the jackpot.  Unfortunately, he wasn’t.

Finally, on his third or fourth trip, there were some women to flirt with.  This is Jeannie Nott.  I love her in general.  Every time I’ve married her in, she’s been awesome.  Micah didn’t really care for her though.

Next up, (notice the different community lot, yup, another trip) SharleneKalson.  Decent chemistry, they kind of hit it off.  There were precious few others, and I’m not sure what happened to their pictures, or if I even had pictures.  You’ll have to take my word for it.

Micah was getting tired of trying so hard, so I decided to invite the two women he seemed most interested in to visit him at home.

He and Sharlene had built a pretty solid relationship up pretty quickly, so she was invited over. 

The second girl was Katerina Futa.  You saw her a few slides ago with Tanner.  This might explain her lack of enthusiasm when she was at Micah’s house.  Even though all of this actually occurred before she and Tanner had hearts flying.

It didn’t take long for Sharlene to assert herself and make the moves on Micah.

Their relationship being strong, he asked her to move in.  Little did we know that she was a Romance sim.  The kind that uses this to her advantage.

Brandon knew.  A longtime friend of both Micah and Sharlene, you can see here how he is warning me that I do not want to see or know what is going on in that house.

Because, Romance sim that she is, Sharlene is taking advantage of every opportunity she has when Micah is not around.

Generally, it is with Adrian Sell here.  Keep him in mind, he becomes somewhat important in a few slides.

She’s a pretty good actress too.  She even had the gall to have Adrian over when Micah was there and introduce him so they could become friends.

I think Micah suspects something is not right though.  He hasn’t proposed to her, and on his last visit to his mother’s house, he seemed to be asking her for advice.

There’s plenty to distract him at home.  I’m not sure if he’s made a decision about what he’s going to do or not.

Marielle’s house is slightly different from Micah’s, though it still holds to the 8 x 16 base “handicap” that I’ve set for myself.  She actually has an 8 x 12 base with an 8 x 4 second floor.

Remember Adrian Sell?  Yeah, Marielle really, really likes him.  She invited him over the day she moved in.  I don’t remember how they even met.

Trollop that she is, one thing with Adrian led to another, and an unexpected surprise popped up one night.

Things did not go well when she told him she was expecting.  He wanted nothing to do with her, or the baby.

This upset Marielle to no end.

And led her to have a miscarriage.  After that, she spent a lot of time by herself, trying to recover and throwing all her energy into advancing her career.

Eventually, she made enough money to put an addition on her house.

(Don’t mind the light blue yard.  I have some kind of glitch that occasionally happens where I have no ground.  I’m not kidding.  If there are stairs, you can see them go down forever.  I’m not sure what is causing it, but it’s not only in this neighborhood.  Probably some cc I have installed.)

Eventually she met Bruce Rauscher.  I’m pretty sure he was a walk by that she greeted so she could get friends for a promotion.  He was a very patient, very kind, very understanding soul.

She found herself spending more and more time in his company, sometimes close together, sometimes in comfortable silences.

Again, one thing led to the next, and she found she had feeling for Bruce that she had never felt for anyone before.  Not even when she thought she loved Adrian so much.

Bruce shared those feelings and one night surprised her by getting down on one knee and popping the question.

Of course, Marielle accepted.

They are very sweet together.  I adore them.  Now.  Marielle kind of pissed me off when she went after Richard Collins on his birthday.  She’s since redeemed herself.

They had a nice, private wedding in their living room, with the entire family and a few close friends.

Eventually, Marielle found herself pregnant again.  This time, she made it through the pregnancy with no problems.

Bruce and Marielle welcomed their first child, a little boy named Anthony.

Katy Monahan grew up an orphan most of her life.  She never knew her mother, and her father disappeared the day she turned into a teen.  Shortly after that day, she found an interesting artifact that allowed herShortly after that day, she found an interesting artifact that allowed her to have her hearts desires.  First, money.  Enough to complete the house and even have an addition built.  Second, beauty.  A mixed blessing, it meant she never lacked for male company, it also meant it was very  difficult to determine who she really loves.  Besides her cats.  She is

When we last left Katy Monahan, she had received a genie lamp and wished for enough wealth to add to her house.  The original family homes are not beholden to the 8 x 16 base handicap.

Katy began the rotation by celebrating her transition to adulthood.  If you recall, she and Micah had quite the teen romance going on.  The birthday nixed that in the bud, and their attraction became non‐existent.  I’m not sure if it’s because he was enthralled by the genie’s spell on her beauty, or if it was an age issueor if it was an age issue. 

I’m also not sure why her father showed up.  It’s not like he had anything to do with her when he was alive (per the challenge rules).

At some point, Allegra had finally gotten pregnant.  She gave birth to two kittens who were named Peanut and Cashew.

I think this is Peanut.  They both look the same.  One is a little lighter than the other, but I can never tell them apart anyway.

Allegra proved to be a very good kitty mommy.

Finally, Katy had time to get out and meet some people.  Timothy Hiatt here happened to be one of her favorites.

He cleaned up quite nicely, and one night made the typical reservations at Londoste.  I’m sure we all know what’s coming here.

Finally, waitresses and patrons left them alone long enough for Timothy to whip out the black velvet box.

Katy was surprised, or very good at acting surprised – take your pick.

She said yes.  Of course.

The wedding was held almost immediately in the small yard beside Katy’s house.  Katy insisted on hyphenating their last names thereby making her line of progeny know as the Monahan‐Hiatt’s.

It was a good day.  The guests were all entertained, and Katy even let go a bit and had some fun shoving the cake into Timothy’s mouth.

Things being what they were, Timothy and Katy had children as well.  This is Keeley the day she transitioned to toddler.

I think Timothy got a bit of confetti in his eye.  Or someone told a really, really good joke.

Here is her twin brother Quentin.  They are adorable.

You can see that the cats play a big part in the children’s lives.  Keeley is especially fond of all of them.  Quentin just enjoys the extra food that is lying aroundlying around.

d h lPeanut and Cashew grew up at some point.  I seem to always miss the pets aging.  I still can’t tell them all apart.  I think Allegra is the one in the upper right, Bonkers is the all black one, Peanut is the one in the top picture and the one sitting on the sofa, and Cashew should be the one in the center.

As the rotation came to an end, the twins aged to children.

I forgot stats.  Keeley is a 5/3/7/3/7 Pisces.

Quentin is a 10/3/9/3/1 Scorpio.

Quentin really likes his hand.  No, really.

On the last day, Katy gave birth to their third child, Trinity.  Unlike her brother and sister, Trinity got her mother’s eyes, so we’ll see what kind of genetic diversity we end up with.

Katherine appreciates that she was a very lucky little girl the day Sergei adopted her and welcomed her with open arms.  She grew to love him very much. It was a difficult day when he passed on and she became thevery much.  It was a difficult day when he passed on and she became the third teenager in the neighborhood with no living parents.

She realized at a young age that she wanted to become a chef and has been working diligently toward that goal.g g y g

Katherine also opened the rotation with a transition to adulthood.  She had all her good friends there and actually had two others age with her.  One is Blazej McClellan (in the hockey jersey‐type shirt).  The other is Opal Hiatt, no relation to Timothy.  She’s not in this picture.

This picture is pre‐neighborhood fiasco, but she aged up o.k.  Granted, the outfit is very definitely not her, but she has interesting facial features.

This is Opal Hiatt.  She is Katherine’s girlfriend.  She is a 5/5/3/8/4 Taurus, Romance/Pleasure sim who wants to be a Professional Party Guest.

Before they officially were together, Katherine made a life affecting decision.  The time had come to explain to Opal what she had done.  

Feeling the pressure of carrying on her father’s name, and knowing that it would be difficult, if not impossible for her future life partner and her to have children, she propositioned Blazej and asked him if he would father a child for her.  She would also adopt a child later.

Blazej accepted and they shared one night together.  Luckily she became pregnant right away.

Opal, being a romance sim, accepted this.  She understood the need for an heir and knew it didn’t change the way she felt about Katherine, nor the way Katherine felt about her.

They had a lot of fun together and spent a lot of time downtown on dates.  Both enjoyed the fountains around town.  Maybe a little too much.

Of course, they also had their romantic moments together.

Then, on one date in particular, Katherine felt the time had come to make things official.  Down on one knee she asked Opal the all important question.

Opal said yes.   Despite being a romance sim.  She must be the other kind who believes in flowers and chocolates, long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and lazy Sunday mornings lingering in bed, unlike Micah’s S.O.

So, I figured it was time to add another community lot to Oak Grove and built a wedding chapel for people to get married at.  Katherine and Opal would be the first to test it out.

There’s a small chapel area where the ceremony takes place.  Behind the curtain is a “staging area” to change, primp, etc. and a small bathroom.

To the side is the reception room with buffet table.  There’s an additional table out side in case guests want to sit out there as well.  

Just an overhead view.  I know there are grid lines.  Bad picture.  Sue me.

It was a lovely ceremony, and I am happy to report that the chapel worked perfectlyworked perfectly.

h l d hThen I realized that having a wedding at a community lot might not be the best idea.

Life went on.  Katherine’s pregnancy progressed and she and Opal both went to work as scheduled.

Finally, the day came when the babies were born.  Wait?!  Babies?  Yeah, babies.

Twin boys.  Kasdan and Onyx.  Again, not sure who this is.  We’ll say KasdanKasdan.

Which logically makes this Onyx.  Both have black hair and blue eyes, which came from their dad.  

Blazej is still in their lives.  He visits all the time and is still good friends with both Katherine and Opalwith both Katherine and Opal.

I believe this update takes us up through five p p grotations and introduces us to most of 

generation three throughout the neighborhood.  I’m hoping for one or two more births and no 

major surprises.  

Not sure when I’ll update again, but after p g ,finding these pixels again after so long, I’m kind 

of excited to get to know them again.

I have played enough to say that Trinity, Onyx and Kasdan are freakin’ adorable, as toddlers and as kids.  I’ve also got a LOT of black hair grunning through the neighborhood now.
