THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
Inspiration for the week...
The love relationship that exists among the Persons of the Holy Trinity is both intense and intimate. As beautiful as this teaching is, it demonstrates how human language really pales in trying to capture the essence of God. The Father brings us to the creative, powerful, yet gently meticulous part of God who has brought mountains and hills into being, as well as each of his children. Still the Father is more than this. The Son demonstrates the unconditional love of God filled with endless mercy and compassion. This love really understands the journey of the marginalized and the poor and has no use for created powers and structures that alien-ate and hurt people. But the Son is even more than this. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God who teaches wisdom and brings understanding, who governs the seasons and discerns the thoughts of human hearts. Yet the Holy Spirit is still more than this. We worship a God who is beyond and also intimately bonded to all that he has made, without whom nothing could be sustained in being. Praise the Holy Trinity!
Consider attending this upcoming Women’s ACTS retreat, a 3-day, 3-night Catholic lay retreat presented by women who have attended prior ACTS retreats, under the guidance of a Catholic Guide. Participants will then go to My Father’s House in Moodus, CT, for the remainder of the retreat where you will experience true faith, fun and unconditional love. The retreat will end on Sunday, June 1st, with a morning Mass and reception at St. Mary Church in Coventry, CT.

Our Health Care Ministry recently held a diaper
drive to benefit the diaper program at the Joan
C. Dauber Food Bank at St. Francis Hospital
and Medical Center. This year included three
local Catholic Parishes in Glastonbury, CT: St. Paul, St. Augustine and St. Dunstan Church.
Our goal was to collect one months’ worth of diapers or
13,000 and yet we collected 14,299 diapers and 5466 wipes.
These donations will help restock the shelves and provide a
basic need for health and wellbeing for our smallest clients. On behalf of Joan Dauber and Ss Isidore & Maria Health Care
Ministry, we want to thank everyone for their incredible
generosity to those in their time of need.

From May through July, people will get more tick bites and tickborne diseases than any other time of year in the US. It’s especially important to take steps to protect yourself and pets from ticks during this season, as well as any time during warmer months when you’re outside. • Avoid areas with high grass and leaf litter and walk in
the center of trails. • Use products that contain permethrin to treat clothing
and gear, such as boots, pants, socks and tents or look for clothing pre-treated with permethrin.
• Tuck pants into socks. • Shower after returning from the outdoors • Perform daily tick checks • If you see a tick remove it immediately using tweezers. • If you are feeling ill or have developed a fever or rash
following a potential tick bite, contact your doctor! https://www.cdc.gov/media/dpk/diseases-and-conditions/lyme-disease/index.html
Please help us as we continue to assist the home-
less and hungry at monthly dinners. The next dinner is scheduled for FRIDAY, JUNE 1. We are always in need of food, provisions, monetary donations, and service assis-tance. Questions and/or concerns may be directed to Bob and Esther DeLucia (pembroke88@cox.net / 860.633.8591) or Gary Giannelli (giannelli1@cox.net / 860.633.2212). Please consider helping in any way possible - the rewards
are deep and the need is great!
